Just beyond, a nearby stream, running from an old gold mine, adds a touch of adventure. Guests may even wish to bring along a sieve and try their luck at a little gold spotting, a fun and unusual activity for all ages.
The local area is rich with things to see and do. Blaenau Ffestiniog, a short distance away, is famed for its slate-mining heritage and now offers adrenaline-filled attractions such as Zip World and Bounce Below. Head further afield to Porthmadog, a bustling harbour town with heritage railways and nearby beaches or explore the pretty coastal village of Borth-y-Gest with its sandy coves and scenic walks. Harlech, home to a striking UNESCO-listed castle and an expansive beach, makes for a great day trip, while Betws-y-Coed, nestled among forests and rivers, offers charming shops, cafes, and beautiful woodland trails.
