Why I chose to live in the Jordaan
I chose the Jordaan because it feels like the true heart of Amsterdam.
This is not a tourist district that was created later — this is where real Amsterdam life has always been. Small streets, historic houses, hidden courtyards and neighbours who still greet each other.
I love that everything here happens on a human scale. You walk everywhere. You stop for coffee, chat with the baker, sit on a bench by the canal and suddenly realise you’re no longer rushing — you’re living.
The Jordaan has soul. It’s creative, a little rebellious, full of stories, and always welcoming. That’s exactly how I want my guests to feel.
