This was a great house for our needs. Absolutely loved the pool and hot tub. The pool table was a great evening activity. Loved the ability to take the golf cart out on excursions. We had a wonderful time!

House has everything you could need. Quick communication with host. Close to everything. Golf cart, pool, and hot tub were great to have. Would stay again.

Great property! Great vacation!

This was a great house for our large group! Plenty of room for everyone!! The owners were great and very helpful! They took care of getting a golf cart for us, which was very helpful! We love Destin and we loved this house!

Perfect house for our group

The Blue Marlin was perfect for our group of 14 (10 teenagers and 4 adults). The house was clean and well-stocked. The beds were comfortable and the beach access was fantastic. The backyard was amazing-we spent a lot of time playing games, swimming, hot tubbing and relaxing. The owners were so nice and quick to respond to the minor issues that came up. Would definitely recommend for a large group with kids/teens.

Great house for big group

Had a great stay at the Blue Marlin. Rented the house for a weekend staycation for a bridal party. There were 11 of us total and we all could’ve slept in our own beds plus still had empty beds! Entertainment space was spacious. We especially enjoyed the backyard with heated pool and game room pool house. Had a small problem during our stay, but Matt responded basically immediately and came right over and took care of the issue. Thanks so much for a great weekend!

Let me start off by saying Matthew did respond to our text every time and fixed the concerns we had but after two days we stopped, we wanted to enjoy our time. Here are some issues we found: they have a box of outdoor toys all the boggy boards were split in half, the four noodles they only 1 was good. The shower outside is not hooked up so you get a lot of sand in pool since area is surrounded by sand. Pool had algae in when we got there and pool guy came three times but still has something going on. we were there to celebrate my 70th birthday. We had 11 people and had a steak dinner the night of my celebration and only 7 people had adult forks and rest had to use baby forks or ate with hands. My girls were going to make a cake but cake pan very rusty. Oh, the 6th bedroom they state is in outdoor game room. It was so cold boys couldn’t use it and we had a lot of rain one night and next day water was in the room because how it’s not level in yard.

Great location but the wasn't up to standards

I could write a book about our experience . When we arrived there were flies everywhere and it reeked of something dead. The garbage cans outside were over flowing with garbage and one was full of dead fish . I immediately called the owner . He tried to tell me we would have to wait until Monday for the garbage to be picked . This was on a Saturday . I informed him there would be no way we could wait until Monday . He did finally come and remove the garbage can with the dead fish but I could tell he was not happy about it. We paid extra for our pool to be heated . The pool did not seem to have the heat on but he told us it was. When we tried to use dishwasher for the first time , water back up. I texted owner he sent a very rude message back to me . Tring to explain to me that I would need to rinse dishes before I put them in dishwasher. Like I was stupid, I explain to him I knew how to run a dishwasher and we hadn't used but this time. He sent his maintenance guy over to fix the dishwasher and to look at the pool. The heat was not on at all for the pool . We could tell instantly that it started to heat up. it kicked off again during our stay. the owner came over then and try to tell us the reason it kicked off was due to the excessive amount of alcohol in the pool. the funny thing is we didn't even drink in the pool. The house was not clean . it had tons of dust all over the air returns and light fixtures. The first night we arrived I walked around inside with my shoes off and my bottoms of my feet were solid black . There were a lot of hazards as well . MY husband tripped over the logs out front and one of the pieces broke lose causing a nail to go through his hand . We have went on many vacations and stayed in all different kind of places. This by far was the most disappointed I have every been on cleanness , and owner relationship .

Hi Mary, Thanks for staying with us at Blue Marlin. I am surprised to see your dissatisfaction with our immediate response to any and all issues you had during your stay. My maintenance team took care of all your complaints within minutes of your messages, as we always do with our guests. While I can't avoid things breaking, or going wrong, we do remedy any situation brought to our attention immediately which is a rare thing in our industry & widely recognized by our well traveled guests. I'm unsure of any hazardous logs outside, as we have concrete paver blocks to prevent guests from driving too close to the home, so perhaps you may have been somewhere other than our property during his incident. In closing, home sharing is based on trust, integrity, and mutual respect which it appears you may lack based on the poor treatment you gave my team while they assisted with your issues. We wish you best of luck in future travels, and hope that you choose a hotel vs. another host's home, where your needs may be better suited. All the best, Matthew & Sarah

Great Vacation Destination!

We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. 8 adults, 7 grandchildren ranging in ages from infant to 8 years old. The house is roomy, provided the comforts and space we needed. The pool is a plus and distance to the beach is perfect. We all loved the golf cart and the large ice maker. No running for ice! Great Experience!

Everything worked so well from booking to checking out.

Things went so smoothly and our family of 16 had more than enough room to move about and enjoy our week stay. The outside trash bins could have been washed out. They smelled badly of fish. We washed it out once garbage was picked up and then all was good. Matt and Sarah were excellant hosts!

Blue Marlin vacation

My husband and I enjoyed our first vacation with all 4 of our boys, wives, girlfriends and grands! The house is large enough to spread out. We had all we needed or a store just a short drive away. The beach was easy with the 6 passenger golf cart. My youngest grand loved his ‘bo’ cart rides every day. The beach was clear and beautiful and afterward a dip in the pool before a nap was excellent. I hope to be back soon. Loved my week in paradise!!

Great location

Really nice house and great location to stores, shopping, beach, restaurants. The salt water pool was heated and perfect for Nov. Great yard for our to small dogs and owners were always responsive with questions, etc. Definitely would come back. No major complaints

Family trip to Destin, FL

Our family of 13 enjoyed our stay at The Blue Marlin home. The beach was within walking distance and all other activities were only a short drive away. The pool was enjoyed by all. The house was clean and had a well stocked kitchen that made it very easy to prepare the meals we brought. Would definitely consider this home on a return trip to this beautiful area.

An enjoyable getaway of comfort and relaxation at the Blue Marlin

My stay at the Blue Marlin was great. The house is in a nice quite neighborhood. The owners were very friendly. They responded quickly whenever we called or needed something. I was so excited to see that the house had been remodel and we were the first to stay in it since the remodeling of the house. It has big spacious rooms. The beds were very comfortable for sleeping. The furniture and appliance were up-to-date. I love the fact that Smart TV's were in every room. My family and I would definitely stay in this house again.

Great for the Team

Easy to access, plenty of beds and room for wrestling team members to spread out during down time. Wish there has been one more shower but guys worked out a schedule. Kitchen well-stocked with appliances though frying pans were in bad shape and needed another. All in all, this was a great place for our team and look forward to being there again next year! Matt was great and full of helpful suggestions! Thanks for a great experience!!

Awesome Experience!!! (5 stars)

We truly enjoyed our stay. The property was well maintained, clean, and very close to the beach (2 min walk). The kids loved the pool and game room. We all loved having access to the golf cart! The home is located close to shopping centers, restaurants, and grocery stores. There is even a winery and a few bars within walking distance (near the beach). We would highly recommend this property to vistors. It is very spacious and will sufficiently accomodate a large group. The next time we vacation in Destin, we will be renting this property if its available.
