Set in the heart of Somerset’s rolling countryside, this former village pub has been beautifully converted into a homely holiday base perfect for families and groups of friends. The host village of Burrowbridge offers a charming setting surrounded by the Somerset Levels’ hamlets, walking trails and waterways, and many wildlife spotting opportunities. This flat landscape is also suited to cyclists, who will be pleased to find secure bike storage at the property. Visit the market towns of Bridgwater and Taunton (both within 9.5 miles) where you’ll find wide selections of local shops, restaurants and pubs, and plenty of cultural events. A day of shopping awaits at the popular Clarks Village (11 miles), while the historically significant and bohemian town of Glastonbury (13 miles) offers an interesting day out for all. More history awaits in the city of Wells (19 miles), while seaside days are made easy, with Burnham-on-Sea sitting 19 miles away.
Leave the peaceful village atmosphere outside as you step into the warm embrace of this lovely home. On entry, be greeted by a blend of original features and modern comforts, creating a comfortable and spacious base. The country-meets-chic kitchen sits in the heart of the property and offers a large, well-appointed space perfect for cooking up holiday feasts for your loved ones. Gather to enjoy the chef’s work at the breakfast bar when numbers are low or venture through to the lounge/diner for more formal meals. Afterwards, sink into the soft seating in the lounge and flick on the Smart TV for a cosy movie night together. A separate snug room offers more space for relaxation and is also fitted with a Smart TV. The ground floor also hosts a unique bar room, perfect for rainy days thanks to its dartboard and table football – a traditional fruit machine also sits in the corner, hinting at the property’s past. Completing the ground floor is a family shower room. When it’s time to call it a night, head up to the first floor and choose from four restful bedrooms: one super-king-size room, two king-size bedrooms, and a cosy twin perfect for little ones.
