With Croyde’s golden sands – a surfer’s haven – just 0.5 miles away, group beach trips and days of surfing are made easy. Other sandy stretches include Saunton Sands (3 miles) and the beach village of Woolacombe (5 miles). Your host village provides a generous selection of pubs and cafes for the days you don’t fancy cooking, while local shops await for finding holiday mementos. With the South West Coast Path passing just half a mile away, walkers are spoiled for trails that showcase the region’s dramatic coastline; walk to the National Trust’s Baggy Point (3 miles) in one direction and Crow Point (6.5 miles) in the other. Nearby destinations with plenty of charm include Appledore, Westward Ho!, and Bideford (all within 21 miles).
