Host did not advise us that construction was underway. Building was completely surrounded by scaffolding. We were aware that there was no air conditioning, but he told us there were fans. There were no fans and said he would not provide them because previous tenants had broken them.Temperatures were in high 80s/90’s and he had large window screwed closed and said he would not open it to get some air circulation.Bedroom windows had no screens and opened out onto scaffolding which would give anyone access to my daughter’s room or myself. There was food left in refrigerator with an opened bag of vegetables.Used paper in toilet. Said his other units were occupied and couldn’t move us. The help number was useless to help us. They spoke to host as they were appalled at conditions, but he refused to refund our money because we had stepped through doorway. We refused to stay and left. Complete dump!

This is a great location in Maida Vale and a nice sized flat. The living space, kitchen, bedrooms are nicely proportioned for this flat. There was some communication glitches where the host was non-responsive. Once he was in touch then things moved reasonably well, but it was stressful not getting any response. There were some food items left in the fridge that had not been cleared out. Having said all that I think this flat has great potential and has a lot going for it. I am in fact already booked to return in June for two days because I love Maida Vale and the ease of walking to the local restaurant-The Elgin and numerous other restaurants nearby. Again, once we got the key, got in and overlooked the above mentioned things, we enjoyed the flat in a safe and welcoming neighborhood. The current exterior works hopefully will be completed before I return as the workers were literally outside the window, looking in ;_ )
