The place was very cute. The only disappointment was there was no hot tub as is shown in the picture. I rented this for my son and his wife to have a quiet place to stay the night if there wedding.

The Silo House was calming. I needed me time and that is what it offered. I felt safe and secure. Location is perfect. I totally decompressed. I had some great adventures exploring downtown Waxahachie. The ODD Festival was happening and it was so fun. The only downside, there is AC in the bedroom, however it can’t keep up with the Texas temps. The bedroom was hot. But thank you for the extra fan. It helped some. True Texans won’t mind it. lolI hope to return with my husband, or, for more me time. Thank you Cathy it was a pleasure meeting you.

Great weekend getaway

Wife and I enjoyed our weekend getaway in the “silo” not far from town for those who want to see people but far enough away to feel like your disconnected for hustle and bustle.

City Girl meets Country Side

Absolutely adored this property! Enjoyed our stay here! Definitely great getaway from the fast paced lifestyle. Ordered take out, took advantage of the quietness & great amenities! A Fun VRBO Getaway

A fun interesting property in a grain silo. Had everything we needed and was close to town and some good restaurants and a fun wine tasting room. We enjoyed the hot tub in the evening.

This is a great place for a single or couple to get away. Spacious kitchen, living area, bedroom and bathroom. We loved that they provided some board game options.

Fantastic Property

The property was beautiful! The hosts put a lot of effort into making this place a beautiful spot to stay. The icing on the top of the already wonderful cake is the hot tub we enjoyed after a long day at the Renaissance Fair. We would absolutely stay again!

Hidden Gem

Not enough wonderful things to say about this hideaway! The love and detail is evident throughout the property and inside the Silo (home). The hosts are super available when needed and the check in and out process seamless. The hot tub was a nice addition to the relaxing stay, pretty much feeling like you are in luxury, but also out in nature... One of my favorite features is the balcony where at night, you get to see the stars as well as city lights far into the distance. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. I would stay there again the next time that I go to the Scarborough Renaissance Festival. 10 out of 10 stay! :)

Amazing property

My husband and I stayed here for the weekend while visiting Scarborough Ren Faire. The silo house was very nice. Loved the eclectic decor style! The property grounds are very nice too. Will be back for another visit.

Peaceful Stay

It was exactly as advertised. Extremely unique!! The owner's made a concerted effort to respect my privacy--although unecessary, as they were the kindest folks. If I'd had the opportunity, I would've spent some time with them at a bon fire, but my work shcedule just wouldn't allow it. It was an extremely peaceful and comfortable stay and will definitely stay again when in that area!! Thank you Lee and Cathy!

Amazing Rustic Home

My wife and our two dogs really enjoyed our long weekend at this most charming silo house. The hosts were amazing and made the whole process seamless. If you find your self in the Waxahachie area we recommend you consider this home.

Comfortable and Beautiful

The Silo House is unique but it’s also comfortable. The furniture is functional and there are great indoor and outdoor spaces to enjoy. Owners were on property while I was there but super respectful of privacy. I enjoyed my time and hope to visit again!

Unique experience!

This property was very uniquely designed and decorated! We totally enjoyed the stay! The Silo House was very clean, comfortable bed and a really cool shower. The grounds were very nice, private and quiet. If you are looking for something different, this may be the place!

Howdy, Im Lykele Tamminga but you can call me Lee and Cathy and our fur child, Fia. I am from a small northern farm town in Holland and moved to Waxahachie in 1984. I grow up on a dairy farm in Holland and Waxahachie. Cathy is from Hickory NC and moved to Texas in 1979. We were Jr.High sweethearts for 2 years then we went our separate ways. 25 years later we end up back together. We both grow up here... literally just across the fields. I am a grain harvester and Cathy is a homesteader. Starting greenhouses and chicken coops this year. We wanted to share our unique Silo House with others while we are gone for harvest.

After the family dairy stopped milking I decided to recycle the grain silo... into our house. I had 15 acres to put it on, so I welding two trailers together and hooked up to the tractor and away we went. I did all the welding and fabrication and had a local builder help with the framing and interior. I studied the sunrises and sunsets so that you could see both views from inside. It truly is peaceful and quiet out here. You can truly feel like you are the only people on Earth.

Some of the most beautiful sunrise and sunsets...Weather sitting on the porch or the balcony. There is always a breeze at The Silo House which is great for the Hammock in The BIg Foot Forest. Plus you get to stay in a round house that once feed thousands of Dairy Cows... Pretty Cool. And check out our little/big town of Waxahachie. So much to do and see here for all walks of life.
