Maplebeck, Whitby, North Yorkshire
Summary:
This mid-terrace cottage rests in Whitby, North Yorkshire and can sleep five people in two bedrooms.
The Space:
Maplebeck is part of a terrace of traditional Yorkshire houses, built from redbrick and sitting on the banks of the River Esk in Whitby. There are two bedrooms; a king-size double with a futon bed and an adult bunk room, sleeping up to five people. There is also a living area, kitchen/diner and a bathroom. Outside is off-road parking for two cars, a private first-floor balcony, a shared lawned garden and private patio with furniture. Maplebeck is a wonderful property for discovering Whitby and the North Yorkshire coast. Please note: The bunk beds are being swapped for a single bed from March, so please be aware when you make your booking.
The Neighborhood:
Mentioned as the town in which Dracula made his first English visit, Whitby has a fascinating and intriguing past. Adding to its dramatic splendour, Whitby is dominated by the cliff-top ruins of the beautiful Whitby abbey, built in the 13th Century. This traditional maritime town, with its old cobbled streets, picturesque houses and sandy blue-flag beach is a great place for a holiday or short break. Whitby is set amongst some of the finest stretches of Yorkshire coast, with spectacular cliffs, beaches and bays. A selection of diverse attractions includes the Captain Cook Memorial Museum Victorian Jet Works, the Dracula Experience, Pannett Park and Whitby Museum, with cabinets of curiosities from geology to jet carving, birdlife to bygones and costumes to clocks.
