Castro Stay Portugal was born from a shared dream of Diogo, Portuguese, and Tomoya, Japanese. After more than 15 years living abroad in countries including Australia, Cyprus, Singapore, the UAE, and Japan, we returned to Porto to begin a new chapter. Combining Diogo’s Portuguese roots with Tomoya’s Japanese perspective, we set out to restore and breathe new life into some of Porto’s charming historic homes. Today, we are proud to welcome guests and share the city we love.

Having grown up in Porto, Diogo chose this neighborhood because it reflects the city’s authentic character, with historic streets, local cafés, and a genuine Portuguese atmosphere. It’s close enough to walk to Porto’s main attractions, yet quiet and peaceful thanks to its primarily residential setting. The area also comes alive every year during São João on June 23rd, Porto’s biggest and most cherished festival, offering a unique opportunity to experience the city’s traditions and community spirit.

São Victor Residences is the result of a three-year restoration journey that began in 2022. Every detail was carefully considered to create a space that feels both beautiful and welcoming. Throughout the property, you’ll find thoughtfully selected artwork from Japan, reflecting the connection between our Portuguese and Japanese backgrounds. By blending historic Porto architecture with Japanese-inspired touches, we have created a unique place that celebrates two cultures while offering guests a comfortable and memorable stay in the heart of Porto.
