Great location literally central to all you want to see. Good places to eat and people watch within a couple of minutes walk up or down the hill.The host Joao was so friendly and very informative. Would definitely stay again.

Carlos is an outstanding host, very helpful and responsive. His place is clean, comfortable and the location can’t be beat, central to everything and metro is easily accessible. Great value!

Joao and Ana are excellent hosts. Great location with short walks to groceries, restaurants and the river. Kitchen is well stocked and has everything you need. Street is quiet at night. Couch is on the small size. We had a great 17 day vacation here.

Joao is a wonderful host. He was very helpful with recommendations for what to see and where to eat. He took the time to explain sites and locations. The apartment is very well located to be able to walk to all of the significant sites and traditional restaurants. I would recommend. Just be sure to take not that parking is not on site. There is a parking garage close by.

Perfect location

The apartment was close to the train station, shopping, cafes, grocery store, and bars. The apartment is completely updated and the windows block out all the street sounds.

Nice stay

The apt was perfect - in a great location for this first time visitor. Very clean and light with a very comfortable bed. The street was lively and then very quiet at night and I felt very safe. João responded quickly to my questions and his colleague gave me ideas of where to go. I recommend this place.

Central Apartment in Porto

We have just returned from a month in this apartment. We loved it because it was the perfect base for getting to know Porto - a few minutes from the Cathedral, Dom Luis Bridge and many other Porto attractions. Our host was very helpful and offered lots of useful information. Totally satisfied with everything and hope to be back there in the future!

Great location in old town Porto

Joao was very accommodating and met us to help us settle in and also gave us many tips about things to do and restaurants/grocery stores in the area. The unit is not large but had everything we needed. We are mid-70's and quite mobile but be aware that there is a flight of stairs to get to the apartment---if this is not an issue, you will find Joao's place excellent in every way. So close to Sao Bento train station, many restaurants, pick up for various tours and the heart of Old Town Porto.

Awesome location

We stayed for 5 nights. The location of the apartment was awesome as we could easily walk to numerous restaurants, bakeries, and tourist sites. The neighborhood felt safe as there were many people walking up & down the streets. There were several homeless people sleeping in corners of buildings but they kept to themselves. The apartment is a good size for a couple, clean, well maintained and secure (front door was metal and had dead bolt system that anchored door to all 4 door frames). The owner provided two portable heaters for the colder evenings.The bedroom was adequate sized to fit a queen bed (mattress was comfortable) & lots of closet space, The bathroom is functional size, had small shower stall with great water pressure (no soap or shampoo) & lots of storage. The living room/ kitchen area was large and had two windows that opened looking into the street & provided adequate sunlight to the area. There was an expandable dining table with 4 metal chairs. The couch was a two seater (unfortunately not very comfortable) that was just large enough for us to sit on. The kitchen area provided new 2 burner gas cooktop, microwave, oven & fridge (no dishwasher). There were ample dishes, cutlery, glasses & cookware, numerous cupboards & cleaning supplies. No spices.I rated the apartment a 4 due to there wasn’t any comfortable seating to relax in after exploring the city & musty smell (smell wasn’t noticed after 3 day)

Great location, comfortable apartment

This is a very comfortable, clean & well-maintained apartment in Porto. We met the owners on arriving so that they could provide us with keys and they were very helpful during our check-in; outlining where things were in the unit and recommendations for dining, shopping, etc. The unit is on the 1st floor above ground level. There is an elevator but it is TINY. I used it only to take our luggage up & down upon arrival & checkout; stairs at all other times. Parking can be a challenge if you rent a car both in finding a spot on the street & getting into said spot (very STEEP hill!) but if you parallel park at home, shouldn't be too difficult. The location is great. When you get to the street, go right and up the hill to a main street where there are some great cafés and padarias. Continuing up that street leads to the Rua de Santa Catarina for its outdoor, pedestrian mall and shopping. Go to the left from the door and you head down the hill towards the Sé and all of downtown Porto. The only drawbacks are that there are homeless people camping out in doorways nearby and, as night settles, some potentially undesirable characters emerge. The unit has everything you need re: kitchen appliances, etc. The bed is comfortable but the pillows aren't. Thin & don't support at all. Hot water was great until our last day when, either by accident or design, it turned off in the morning. Could use a few more towels, too. Overall, a great experience & would recommend this unit.

Superb appartment right in the centre

We arrived late on Saturday night,which was not a problem for the owner Joao.(other places charge a late fee). Joao is very helpful, proud of his city and happy to provide lots of tourist information, despite the lateness of the hour. The apt is great for two people,and fully equipped,spotlessly clean. The bed is very comfortable with a firm mattress and the bedroom/bathroom linen is very good quality. The bathroom is a good size and all amenities in perfect order. The sitting room is not huge but comfortable, the TV does not have English channels but you will be so busy exploring the city you wont need them:) We did not cook(why would you, with fab restos everywhere) but if that's what you prefer it had everything needed to create a meal,and there is a good supermarket in the shopping centre "Via Catarina" in avenue Sainte Catherine about 6 mins walk.There are also two local shops just down the same street for essentials water/milk etc Transport from the airport via metro is stress free and Sao Bento metro stop is 3 mins walk if you come out the right exit which we didn't,so there are 2 exits when you come up the escalator don't take the one straight in front of you as its further away,still on the same street but more of a walk uphill to the apt. Now some touristy info: 1- we didn't bother with the 3 day Andante card as everywhere is within walking distance,we just paid the card fare to the airport 2euro each way PP. 2- The Pont Luiz bridge is 4 minutes walk away. 3- Tram 22 2 mins walk just up the street and around the corner. 4- My favourite bit, restaurants - we were to have dinner for 3 nights, we booked Tapabento for the first night which is amazing and should be higher on the list on tripadvisor,you will need to book at least two weeks in advance or maybe more in July /Aug. On our last night we had booked Muu steakhouse which was also brilliant ,a bit more expensive but if you like steaks you are spoilt if not there are only 2 other main courses. This is number 1 on trip but to be honest I would rate it on a par with Tabento. Our middle night we had nothing booked as we went out to the coast and had planned on eating there but it had got chilly to keep strolling so we got the bus back to Ribera, we chose one of the ones on the river front called Avo Maria this was only ok. 5- if needed there are luggage lockers in SBento train station just opp metro. 6-boarding cards can be printed off top floor of scentre above WE WILL BE BACK

Everything that we needed was there!

Centrally located, good restaurants nearby, lots of sightseeing available. A highlight was touring two wineries and a boat trip down the Douro River.

Emplacement idéal pour visiter Porto

Idéalement situé pour visiter la ville de Porto à pied, l'appartement est tout à fait conforme aux photos. Refait à neuf dans un quartier très authentique, dans une rue calme, rien ne manque et convient tout à fait pour 4 personnes. Joao Carlos est très sympathique et très réactif. Location, Location!

Joao was very welcoming, and replied to our texts quickly. The location was very convenient, he showed us shortcuts on city maps. The town has a lot of circular hilly streets, so it was great to receive directional orientation. Our stay was comfortable and homey.

Joao Carlos est quelqu'un de très sympathique ! Il répond rapidement à vos questions et est disponible pour toutes explications. Il nous a très bien reçu et il y avait même des cartes de Porto dans l'appartement. La cuisine est très fonctionnelle, l'appartement en général est petit mais idéal pour une famille de 4, la banquette clic clac est très confortable. L'appartement est super bien situé, puisque nous avons tout pu faire à pied dans le centre de chez lui. Nous y retournerons sans hésiter.

Die kleine 2 Zimmer Wohnung liegt sehr central,ist gut eingerichtet,sauber und ruhig gelegen.Entspricht vollkommen dem Preis und ist zu empfehlen.Besonders gut ist für 2 Personen,aber auch für eine kleine Familie.Die Lage ist super,man kann alles zu Fuss erreichen.Die Besitzer sind sehr nett.Wir hatten sehr schöne Ferien.Belenki Mark
