The nearby market town of Brampton, 10.5 miles away, is home to an excellent range of independent shops, cafés, and eateries, with scenic footpaths and bridleways extending into woodland, farmland, and open moorland. Haltwhistle, known as the geographical centre of Britain, is also easily reached within 7.5 miles.
