Staying at Thorney Hall on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales promises friends and families a blend of history, stunning scenery, and memorable days out. Built by Lord Bolton for his daughter, the Hall was positioned to capture his favourite view – Middleham Castle, perfectly framed across the dale. The surrounding area is ideal for walkers, with the Yorkshire Dales on the doorstep. Half a mile away, a thriving community pub sits an easy walk, perfect for an afternoon tipple. Harmby Waterfall is a hidden gem, where water tumbles into a leafy gorge. For a fun-filled adventure, The Forbidden Corner (5.5 miles) is a must-visit. This maze of tunnels, follies and surprises sprawls across 4 acres of garden and will delight visitors of all ages. Leyburn (1.5 miles) offers independent shops, cafes and a relaxed pace for a morning or afternoon stroll. Meanwhile, the historic market town of Richmond (11 miles) awaits, with its cobbled marketplace, impressive castle, and riverside walks.

A separate dining room provides a welcoming spot for meals, and a handy cloakroom completes the ground floor. Upstairs, a long hallway leads to a study and reading area with elevated views over the countryside. Four bedrooms include a master super-king with a contemporary en-suite shower room and dressing area, alongside a twin with single beds, a double, and a single, all finished in soft tones with period-inspired furnishings and far-reaching rural vistas.
