This cottage is exactly as described. David was extremely responsive from booking through our trip. This was our first VRBO experience and we hope to revisit this property. The property is extremely clean and has ample bath towels and extra bed linens. The kitchen is very well stocked with plenty of silverware, dishes, cooking utensils, etc. The driveway and front is nice and shady and there’s a nice porch to sit and drink your coffee on in the morning. Plenty of books to read. The house was the perfect amount of space for the four of us to hang out as well as to have our own space without being on top of one another. The house maintains a lot of period charm but is up to date with kitchen appliances, bathroom, and you could eat off the floor. The a/c is perfect and the outdoor shower and foot shower was perfect for making sure sand stayed outside. The area is quite safe and also quite private. The neighborhood behind the house is also gorgeous and we went on a little walk to see the boats. The beaches in Watch Hill are easily walkable within maybe 20 min but, bc there’s not sidewalks for a portion, we decided to drive. A parking pass is provided and we had no trouble finding a spot in the morning when Sift opened, at lunch time every day for the beach, and then back again in the evenings to watch the sunset over the bay with Del’s Lemonade and St Clair ice cream, even on weekends. Both Carousel Beach and East Beach were fun. Carousel beach is a paid access beach but showers and a changing area are available with your access (public bathrooms are free to use regardless of whether you pay to access the beach). The waves are calmer on the bay side as well. I would recommend this particularly if you have little ones. East beach is free, larger, a little more crowded on the weekends, and has much bigger waves. We enjoyed the free lighthouse tour and saw spectacular views. Watch Hill is a beautiful area and this house is absolutely perfect to enjoy it! 5 stars!
