We (two families) recently stayed at this house for a month. The pictures definitely reflect the house. Very spacious and lots of lights during the day. Thoughtful architecture.
We loved waking up every morning to the birds and the view and enjoying drinks outside in the evening. Host provided kitchen and bathroom amenities.
We made most of our meals in the kitchen and enjoyed eating around the bar. The stove took a little time getting used to, but worked fine. There were no extra kitchen appliances besides the coffee maker. Could have used a rice cooker.
Rooms were comfortable and came with their own a/c units. The kids basically had their own space in the lower area. I do wish there was a tv in the lower living room, but since there was one in the bedroom, the kids hung out there.
The location worked out really well for us since we were visiting family in town, shopping, and going to the beach. But we also could walk down to Makiki Valley State Recreation Area or quick drive up to some of the upper hiking trails. One thing to note about the location is that the driveway does go downhill and can become really slick due to the trees and rain. So if possible, I'd recommend people to have an all wheel drive vehicle. But we made it work with our minivan.
Since we stayed for a month, myself and another were working. The internet worked perfect and never had any issues. We even had an office to work out of, but many of the rooms had desks too.
If we had any issues, I reached out to the maintenance guy, Randall, and he responded quickly. We was also very polite when he'd come around the do yard work or clear the driveway. The host was responsive to any questions or concerns.
If you're looking for a change from the beach, I totally recommend this house. It exceed our expectations and made for a very memorable trip. Mahalo and a hui hou kākou. hui hou.
