Clean and convenient

Staying here was turned out to be perfect! There were 9 of us and the house was spacious, clean, and rooms were quiet. It had everything we needed and was only a short walk to the beach and the pool. The garage had all kinds of stuff for the beach which was a bonus! Would love to stay here again.

Location Location Location

The property was beautiful and the location was great. The cleanliness of the property could use some work. The fridge, oven, pantry and garbage can needed to be cleaned. The pillows need to be replaced in certain bedrooms. Luckily we brought our own. You will need toilet paper, paper towels and garbage bags. The kitchen was fully stocked and the rest of the house was clean. House was very spacious and the neighborhood was beautiful. They need new cleaning people and the stay would be perfect.

We are very happy to know that you thought this very spacious property was beautiful, its location great, the kitchen well stocked, and a majority of the house clean. Please accept our apology for the cleanliness of some kitchen areas and the pillows. We would have been more than happy to send someone to come reclean these parts had we been made aware during your stay. We will forward your comments to property managers so that they may speak with the housekeepers and assess the pillows. As mentioned in the rental agreement, housekeeping only leaves a certain amount (starters) of such items as paper towels, trash bags, toilet paper, and dish detergent. Guests must provide any additional items needed for/during their stay. Thank you for choosing Real Joy.

Really nice place and excellent location!

It is a really nice home and excellent location. You are a very short walk to the private beach which does come in handy because it definitely stays less crowded than the others. The house is definitely be enough for 2 or 3 families without stepping all over eachother. The only complaint out of is that they have these wristbands for the pool the small rubber type and if your child loses or misplaces one they charge 25 dollars per wristband so we just didnt touch them at all to avoid that all together. Just a really odd way to make money on a .10 cent wristband. Other than that it was a perfect trip and we loved it!

Fantastic beach home

The home was very clean, spacious and had everything you could need while on vacation. There were plenty of bath towels and linens for our 7 day stay. My family loved playing corn hole and using the extras the home provided in the garage. The pool is a short walk down the street. The beach entrance is a little farther by foot but my whole family was able to do the walk, even my 70 year old parents. Keep in mind the beach access are steps only so pack light as you will have to carry everything down the steps. I loved the private beach area which was awesome since we were avoiding large crowds due to COVID. The property management was very helpful and replaced the grill propane tank quickly once I notified them it was empty. We definitely will be back!

Nice comfortable home

The home was very clean and fresh. The kitchen was well stocked. We loved the basketball game in the garage! The swimming pool was small but adequate and quite close. I don’t think the home can adequately sleep 11. The beds in the twin room are singles and very cozy for 2 people. We did call the manager and they had an air mattress there within the hour which was fantastic! Our only complaint was the beach is not as close as it sounds. The neighborhood gate by the house that goes to the beach is locked so you have to walk through the neighborhood to another gate. Also there is nowhere to park a golf cart at the beach entrance. Other than that we had a great week! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Cute House

Cute house near community pool. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook meals (including cupcakes for a birthday), plenty of dishes, and silverware. We did have an issue with the upstairs master bathroom toilet, we called the 24-hour maintenance number and they had someone out within an hour. We also ran out of propane for the grill, called the 24-hour number and they had someone out in 20 minutes. He replaced the tank and made sure everything worked before leaving the house. There was an issue with winged ants (also looked like termites) in the downstairs bathroom. We were told to turn off the lights and someone would be there to take care of it. Someone did show up while we were away and left a note stated that a company would be out to spray sometime in the next week (we were leaving in two days) and to keep the lights off at night to keep them away. That didn't help us since we kept the lights off anyway. The only downside to the house was the downstairs bathroom shower, it is tiny.

Not so Funinthesun

The unit was as described but in desperate need of a deep clean especially the floors. Our feet were black on the bottom from walking around in the home. I know what the host response will be: if you would have contacted us someone would have come to clean, yes, true, but we would have also had to leave the property while it's being re-cleaned. If the unit was properly cleaned every time this wouldn't be a problem. Also, the cleaning fee that comes with this rental is pretty hefty so one would think it would be nicely cleaned. The HOA has control over the pool for this unit which is not detailed in the description. Without any warning they decided to close the pool for multiple days because there was a CHANCE of bad weather. I had FIVE kids who wanted nothing but to swim in the pool because double red flags were up at the beach due to the current. I contacted realjoy multiple times and was finally told there was nothing they could do. The walk to the beach was okay but not desirable for elderly or ones with small children. I will mention that the beach equipment was broken but Realjoy did send new replacements within a reasonable time. The area in general is very crowded with lots of traffic. I wouldn't stay here again.

Horrible experience with both this property and Real Joy Vacations (property manager)!!!

We had a multitude of issues with this property that put a huge damper on our vacation. This was supposed to be a non-smoking property with signs posted in the house. It was far from that. The people before us apparently smoked significantly. When we got there and late into the evening, the cleaning people left dirty linen bags right outside the front door that were never picked up. We called to complain about the smoke smell. It wasn't until in the evening the first night until someone came out from the property management company. Their employee acknowledged that the three bags wreaked of smoke and took them away. We told her there were cigarette butts outside the front door where the two chairs are and also out back. No one came and cleaned those up. The woman who came out gave us a spray that didn't do much other than mask the smell. Another problem was that they wet cleaned the sofas in the living room before we got there and we basically could not use them the first night until they dried. No one said a word before we got there to give us a courtesy heads up about any of this. They finally called the next day, acknowledged the problem, and did a deep clean process while we were at the beach. It helped but the smell was never fully eradicated. And now we know why. The smoke smell had gotten into many of our personal items. They did change a light bulb that was out in the microwave but never gave us a battery to replace the dead one in the remote for the outside string of lights. Here's the big problem. We got home and out suit cases, clothes, pillows, pillow cases, paper products (paper towels, napkins, TP, etc.) and our cars all smell of smoke. We had follow-up conversations via text from Real Joy Vacations and they basically washed there hands of it. During the process, one of their employees said we would be compensated as part of correcting the process, but now that we are home, that was declined. I've rented a lot of vacation homes but this one and their property management company was by far our worst experience that we've had.

Using that resource, we can see the requests, text messages, and voicemails sent that our system automatically logs, allowing us to visualize the back and forth conversations you had with RealJoy and the moves made to remedy most of the issues you mentioned. Hopefully, these speedy corrections, having housekeeping come back to remove the forgotten linens, arrange for the property manager to inspect the unit, and get the ozone cleaned, are what allowed you to finish your 7-night stay at Fun in the Sun. There are a couple of items you noted in your review that we did not receive notice of, and we truly wish you would have given us the chance to correct them as we had with the others. It is always our intention to provide our guests with excellent service, and when we fall short of that will do everything in our power to quickly change our course for guest satisfaction. Please accept our apology, and we hope that you were able to find some relaxation and enjoyment during your stay.

Great location, beautiful place and the amenities were fantastic. Our family loved it, especially biking around the gated neighborhood. It was a 5 mins walk to the private access and to a local coffee shop.

Spring Break Fun

We had a great time at Fun in the Sun. The management company was quick to respond to our needs. The pool was not heated so my grandkids only used it once. The beach was great and was a short walk. We appreicated the wagons and extra beach chairs and toys. Per the reviews I read, I brough extra trash bags, paper towels and toliet paper. The kitchen was otherwise well stocked. The large sectional sofa was great for our large family to hang out together on. The corner lot was perfect. I wish we could have parked more cars in the drive as we had 4 and had to find places to park the 2 away from the house. I accidently left something behind and the management company was great about helping me retrive it.

Fun in The Sun Yippee!

We absolutely loved our stay at Fun in The Sun house and Miramar Beach. The home was spacious and clean just exactly as pictured on the website. It was easy walking distance to the gated beach and a very quiet, safe neighborhood. The owners provided plenty of dishes and cooking supplies, towels and hair dryers in every bathroom. All beds and pillows extremely comfortable! We enjoyed using the grill and back patio. The property managers were easy to get ahold of and answers all of our questions! We will definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay. Short walk to community pool. Property was very clean and well kept. Nice patio with wicker furniture, and a garage full of kids toys.

Great location

Our stay was great! Our family took a vacation during fall break. It rained all but one day but in true Florida fashion it cleared off every day but one. The beds were comfy and plenty of linens were provided. The staff was very helpful if something came up that we had a question about. Note that the home does not have a mailbox so Amazon deliveries will go to a locked mailbox that we did not have access to. You might bring hand towels for the kitchen too as there was only one. Otherwise our stay was really great. Would rent again.

Awesome location! Sadly, the house was poorly kept

Best part of this property was the location! The overall cleanliness was disgusting. The fans in all of the bedrooms had an inch or more of dust on them, shower curtain was dirty and needs to be bleached, door in the kitchen was covered in dust and we had to clean the outdoor grill before use. I highly recommend you hire a new cleaning service. The kitchen was not well stocked! Knives were dull, no scissors, measuring cups, no salt & pepper, etc...The beds are old and sagging, pillows had no support (all guests had neck aches) and both of these items should be replaced. We were glad to see beach supples for our use but many of the supplies were broken. Lastly, the house has a very weird, unpleasant smell when entering the front door. All of our guests had to rewash clothes, wipe down luggage & purses. In spite of the issues, we had a fabulous time and will return but we won't be staying at this house!

Amazing location!

The location was as advertised. It was a short five or so minute walk to the beach. The private beach was awesome. The home is beautiful and well taken care of. The only issue is they should consider a new cleaning staff. But, that comment does in no way take away from the home itself. Everything we needed was pretty much provided. My entire family will choose to stay here again! Five star home without a doubt.

Excellent value for the money

Positive in general with few areas that need improvement. Great to have a wagon to take things to the beach. 7 min walk with private access. Beach was great… Comfortable beds, clean bathrooms! Living room couches need washing, garbage bins were not available for the entire and week this created little inconvenience putting garbage bags away. In general, was a great experience… we will definitely go back! Thanks!

First Timers!

Had a great week of vacation and home was great for our family of 8. House was just what we expected! We were disappointed in the cleanliness of a couple bathrooms and found indoor trash still there in one of the bathrooms from previous occupants. It might also be time to go through all of the stuff you see pictured in the garage as they aren't all in working order. Also, be prepared to pick up a cooler for beach as we were surprised to find that there was not one at the property already.

Beautiful house,

The house was beautiful! Loved all of the rooms, very spacious. And the backyard is just enough space for the littles to play. We did have a hiccup upon arrival. Getting into the portal for this rental company was a little difficult, but upon arrival we found two of the showers nasty! There was used soap and a hairball in one, and mold in another. We called the company and they sent someone out within an hour to clean. The house did not come with ANY extras in the kitchen. So you have to bring/buy everything, salt/pepper, dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, foil, plastic wrap, etc. All of those things add up really quickly! Its about 1/3 mile walk to the beach, seems easy, but when you get all your chairs, umbrellas, food/snacks, drinks, it is a long walk! But the house is stocked full with beach chairs, wagons and sand toys! This was a nice bonus! We would definitely stay here again.
