Perfect getaway

This property was perfect for our family gathering to celebrate a milestone birthday. Very spacious and clean. We loved that there are doors to the porch from each bedroom. The kitchen is small but had everything we needed plus some. The view is so lovely, we spent a lot of time relaxing on the porch. We're already talking about renting again for our next North Carolina getaway! Some small FYIs that did not detract from our stay but may be helpful for future guests. The beds are quite firm if that's not what you're used to. The driveway is a bit steep and all gravel, and the parking area is small but fit our four vehicles. It was a challenge backing out but doable. Absolutely nothing about these things would keep us from visiting again!

Special home to us

As the former property owners we were excited to see our old house. It’s been 8 years and the new owners have done a great job updating it. The home is beautiful and well equipped. We only had a couple of hiccups. The door code was not working upon arrival and we had to wait to get a text back so we could get in. Also the heat was on and the house was very warm. There was a problem with the air conditioning. I will say the management was great and sent someone from Asheville to fix it around 10 pm that night. Other than those issues everything was great. Beautiful views, cool night time air and a wonderful mountain to explore. Thank you for sharing your house with us!!

Take a Hike!

The house is two minutes by car from the Bald and the Appalachian Trail. Fabulous hiking in all directions. For dog owners, the house sits on a private road for easy walks. Many tame deer nearby, so listen for their soft huffing to avoid encounters. All the essentials for a comfortable stay, but no clutter. Great AC unit. Easy parking and unloading. Huge fridge, nice stove, huge entertainment screen with multiple selections. Great internet. Fabulous view, day and night. Lots of windows in every room. Very quiet.

Beautiful view and cleanliness

The backyard, 2-level wrap around decks have plentiful space and perfect positioning for my family to enjoy the view of the gorgeous mountains! The property was very clean indoor and outdoor. Needed more paper towels and toilet paper but understood per the lease agreement that initial paper products are provided at arrival as expected but having the convenience of additional paper products on hand would be nice. Only a minor discomfort but not a deal breaker. Everything in the cabin home worked and functioned as intended. My family and I enjoyed our stay, and we hope to return back again!

Perfect stay in the mountains

Overall great stay

The view was breathtaking. The driveway was tough to get in and out of. The house has two floors. First floor great. The basement was slightly moldy smelling and spiders. The house was great otherwise. You don’t know till you get there you are an hour from Asheville. We made several trips in. We enjoyed ourselves.

Beautiful views

The views were amazing. The property was nice. The only feedback is we were only given one dish cloth, no broom and the linens and towels were very low quality. For the views and the price it was nice . The grill was pretty funky (we cleaned it) and the kids found a beef stick under the couch downstairs. Small things but for the price expected more. Also didn’t have that charm with guest book and personal touch like some Vrbo we have stayed at

Cabin was very well maintained. Our only complaint would be that the cabin was not very warm, especially downstairs. We adjusted the thermostat several times during our stay.

Beautiful View - Comfortable House

The sunrise view from the deck is amazing. House is very comfortable. It is 30 minutes down the mountain to get to nearest grocery store, but as trade off it is really peaceful in the neighborhood. You can hike up to the Big Bald for an incredible 360 degree view. Would definitely recommend the property.

Beautiful views

The property managers were fast to respond. The fireplace didn’t work which was a bummer because it snowed our entire stay. We enjoyed skiing at Wolf Ridge and sledding at the house. The kitchen is a very tight squeeze for meal prep for 9 people. Heed the warning about the steep driveway and put chains on car tires.

Excellent views!

The location was fabulous! The views are extraordinarily gorgeous!!!! The house is very nice. The overall information we received was a bit vague. When we arrived the A/C was off and it happened to be the warmest day of our stay. I called Morning Carolina (Apparently connected to VRBO) after 5pm and they were closed. The thermostat required a passcode and we were not given one. Luckily Morning Carolina texted me right away after leaving a voicemail. The owner was able to turn on the A/C remotely. I know we live in a high tech world, but it felt a bit strange that it could be controlled by the owner remotely...... I felt like I was not trust worthy. We also found the the dish washer did not work or at least we could not get it work. All in all it was a great trip and a great place other than the blips. Thom

Great mountain cabin retreat

My family and I really enjoyed the property, especially the views from the patio. The property was charming and very spacious. It could use a refresh but overall we enjoyed our 10 days there.

It Was an Experience coming from South Florida!!!

Property was very nice, the home accommodate all 9 of us. The only thing we were snowed in the day after we arrived. There was no sand or salt to be able to melt the snow and get our cars out of the driveway..Knowing the weather they should have provided this for us.

Minor issues but a beautiful cabin

We were a group of 9 who stayed there for a weekend in February and enjoyed our time in the cabin. Amazing view... beautiful nature and it was snowing that made it 10X better. Very clean, they had speakers, some games, plates and towels to create a welcoming cabin. Kitchen was small for 9 people but we made it work. There was no shampoo so remember to bring your own! Carolina Mornings people on the line are very nice but we accidentally left our blanket in the cabin and it’s been more than 2 weeks and were not able to get it back... They have told us they are looking for it and have been nice on the phone but there is no sign of the blanket yet... hopefully we get it back. (We are paying for the shipping and understand it was our fault to leave the blanket but how long does it take to even see if you find it?!) Other than some minor issues, we enjoyed our stay overall.

Beautiful home

What a beautiful home in such a beautiful scenery. The home was comfortable, warm, and fully stocked. Although there was no place to put all the food we brought, we quickly found a place for the bins of food we brought to prepare for our Thanksgiving week meals. We would definitely stay there again.
