Impressions were: this had been party central in the past. First cottage had busted screen front door (unsuccessfully duct taped). This was our first and lasting impression. Broken window above kitchen sink, which my son taped so no one would get hurt by falling glass shards when washing dishes. Second cottage was newly painted and decorated. Cute touches. Back cottage had a grapefruit size hole in screen that a vine creeped through! Although it was advertised as sleeping for 10, we were snug and almost on top of one another and we numbered 9. We never did locate the 3rd queen. Rental info.requested we bring our own linens. I have rented more than a dozen times and linens always meant: sheets, and towels (bath, beach, kitchen and hand). Imagine our dismay after travelling 5 hours (with bedding for 9) that linens meant no pillows or blankets! We had to purchase pillows. Thankfully it was warm so blankets were not required! Kitchens were not equipped to feed 9-10, even if we combined the goods from both cottages. There were not enough coffee mugs, flimsy plastic plates, no suitable pots and pans, one peeler, etc.. When I asked in advance if there were beach chairs, I was told they thought there were 3 under the deck. 3 materialized into 1 busted beach chair and one lounge chair. Clearly they had not been cared for or used in the distant past as they were sitting with beer cans and other garbage. We were asked to sweep and mop floors. We did. Again, it was clear prior tenants had not done the same, as noted by the dirt and "treasures" that were found behind and under furniture. Cottages are in CLOSE proximity to other neighbors, thankfully our next door renters were fun and friendly. Public beach is a half a block away, waves and sunsets were great.
