There is a lot of value to be had here. Cabuya is a small kinda remote town with some nice folks. The Beach in front of this house is visually beautiful but we did not swim there we opted instead to drive a really fun 4x4 road to Mal Pais 7km away which runs next to the nature reserve instead to surf and swim. We also swam on a nice beach on the road to Montezuma. After two runs on the road to Mal Pais it seemed easily traveled, but do not attempt with some familiarity with off road driving in my opinion, road can be rutted in some steap areas, with 3 streams to cross (just go slow). Lots of wildlife along road. We also visited Montezuma and went snorkling on Tortuga Island. As long time boaters in cold waters the journey through the big swells in an open boat with a sputering and stalling engine were to be remembered, in a good way. Glad the water was warm! Nice snorkling. There are nice people in Cabuya. Cemetary Island beckons you to visit. We did not although we had some very vivid dreams in this house, a kind of energy exists in this whole town in my opinion. And it is good. Not luxurious, but clean and does the job nicely. Property has a big gate and lots of room. Owner communicated very well and was a joy to interact with. There is a hazardous tree on the edge of the property, but it caused us no issues at all. We did see monkeys right next to the house a few times along with a very large black cat. There are some sodas and a great bodega right down the street. Suggest you have a 4x4 rented here to visit other areas close by. House is as pictured, simple, and the owner really had a lot of useful information and was wonderful. Costa Rica is so wonderful we are going back again and while looking for another house (this one was boked) I figured I would write a review. To sum this house up: not expensive, not fancy either, great owner and the caretaker Rosa was nice. A clean Tico style house in a less travelled Tico feeling town.
