5 adults no toilet paper and bugs

Nice property great view and neighborhood! Great access to the beach! On the downside there were bugs all over the apartment and when contacted the management we were not being replied to or acknowledged. The apartment had one roll of toilet paper only in each bathroom no extras. There were multiple types of bugs both on the floor walls and even in the beds. Great place but unfortunately not great management.

Beautiful Condo

This unit is SO nice ! It has been tastefully updated throughout. The corner balcony is huge with plenty of comfortable seating. You can see morning sunrises and evening sunsets. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was nicely stocked. Our only suggestion would be to upgrade the bath towels - these were of poor quality and didn't fit in with all of the other nice upgrades in the rest of the unit. We will definitely try to book this unit again !

Weekend reunion

Property was beautiful inside and out, and a perfect place for our reunion Only complaint was the cleaners did put full rolls of TP or paper towels in unit. Not good when you have a group of women Would definitely book again

Family Vacation

My husband, two adult sons and my mother-in-law throughly enjoyed our stay at Shoalwater 1106. We LOVED the balcony! We found the condo to be very clean and well equiped. We especially liked that each bedroom had it's own bathroom. We will definitely rent this condo again!

My family and I stayed at this condo for Memorial Day weekend. It is newly renovated, has top notch decor, appliances and most of all - great location!!! It has an unobstructed view of the beach! Would love to stay here again! Sheila

Beautiful panoramic view

Roomy, newly renovated and beautifully decorated, this condo had plenty of room for our group of 7. The kitchen had everything we needed. Three nice bathrooms (Space out timing of showers so you have enough hot water.) The view was fantastic and the large balcony had plenty of seating and a nice table. The indoor pool was small; it would be great if the larger pool outdoors was heated. The condo was clean and comfy and close to grocery stores. We had a great family vacation.

Family beach getaway

We really loved the condo. The large balcony and views were awesome. We had plenty of room for all 8 of us. Anything you would need in the kitchen and really nice to have a laundry room.

great location on the beach. unit could have been cleaned a little better - there was a moldy baby bottle under couch - and no one cleaned out the coffee pot from last stay - still had filters of coffee in it. floor was sandy. Had to go out and buy trash bags, one a day should be provided for a unit that big, plus 2 rolls of toliet paper per bathroom would have been nice.. BUT we had a good time.

Memorial Day Stay

Shoalwater is well located and nicely maintained. We have stayed there several years, albeit in a different unit each year.

Great family getaway....except for construction noise (and it was a BIG exception)

The property is exactly as advertised -- plenty of room for three families, two with kids (toddlers/infant). The view is spectacular and the property is generally well-maintained. Pools (including kiddie pools) inside and out with easy access to the beach. At least four charcoal grills were available for use, and we did use them on several occasions. The only negative, and it is a big one, was the constant construction (and noise) due to replacing/repairing all of the balconies and railings, and sandblasting portions of the exterior From 8 am to 5 pm, we had zero use of our balcony. And the construction noise was deafening -- ear buds didn't work. We had 2 two-year olds and a two month old who needed frequent naps, but it was impossible for them to sleep with the noise. When we booked the property in April (we came in July), the listing said construction would be completed in May. We were not told until a week before our trip that construction was still ongoing Of course, by that time, we had made final payment and there was no ability to cancel. In addition, one of the two elevators (in a 12 story building) was non-functional for at least three days of our stay. Others were trapped on at least one occasion and had to be rescued by the local fire department. Under normal circumstances, we feel the property represents good value. Under our circumstances, we felt some concession should have been made on price due to our inability to peacefully enjoy our time there.

Extremely loud construction which was stated on site that it was completed before our stay

I understand that a property needs to complete regular maintenance. What was occurring during our stay was not regular maintenance. The property was replacing balconies which required constant loud drilling from 8 am to 5 pm. The noise was so loud we could not stay in our condo during this time. We could not have a conversation or rest. I don’t understand why this heavy construction could not be done during off season. Before our stay I checked the website on vrbo and it stated that all loud construction had been completed and there would only be painting dates May 27. I did contact the management company gulf sands rentals and they only offered 5% refund which I thought was a slap in the face.

Watch out for the unexpected fess

Check in is about a 20 minute drive, depending on traffic, from the actual location you will stay, yet they are quick to charge you an unauthorized late checkout fee. In addition, check out was set for 10am. Every other place I have stayed before, check out is for 11am. It is ridiculous to get nickel and dime. I guess they need to find ways to pay for the remolding. However, I will never stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

Horrible

I would not recommend this because gulfsands was horrible. Yes it says construction but nowhere does it say that the balcony is closed Monday thru Saturday from 8-5 or that you will have construction workers looking in your room at 8 in the morning on your balcony. My husband was in bed in his underwear and I was in the bathroom with the door open when this occurred. Will not book anything through gulfsands ever again. Worst experience I have ever had when staying in Orange Beach and we stay very regularly.
