My sister and I are joint owners of The Blue Jay. We inherited the home in 2011. I currently live in Colorado with my wife, 2 kids, and 2 dogs. My sister lives in Mill Village with her husband, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. We both grew up in The Blue Jay on Canadohta Lake.

Our grandfather started going to Canadohta Lake in the 1940's and met our grandmother at the Canadohta Roller Rink. They raised 4 boys and 1 girl and spent their summers camping in the small field adjacent to The Blue Jay. They eventually saved up enough money to buy The Blue Jay. A few years later they began to buy a few small cottages in the area and rent them out by the week. When my grandparents became ill, sadly the small cottages had to be sold off to cover medical expenses. The Blue Jay was the last remaining cottage in the family. In 1998 an addition was built onto The Blue Jay to create a year round home. My sister and I were raised in The Blue Jay the majority of our adolescent lives. In 2011 our father passed and we inherited The Blue Jay, becoming 3rd generation owners. We began to remodel The Blue Jay in 2016 and completed in early June 2018. The Blue Jay was officially open for weekly summer rentals mid June 2018. We are thrilled to carry on our grandparent's legacy and get back into the rental business so families like ours can create lasting memories at Canadohta Lake for years to come.
