Not worth the money

We were originally very excited to stay here since it was the most money we had ever spent on a rental and the longest stay we ever had. The microwave did not work. The grill had old food with MAGGOTS inside of it. We had to contact the rental agency several times throughout our stay and they still never cleaned the grill. We had to do it ourselves. I’ve only ever done rentals near a beach and this rental had sand EVERYWHERE. Not only that, the ice dispenser had black mold on it so we couldn’t use it. Was told they would get back to us with some sort of compensation or concession and never did. This home is also for sale currently and it’s like they know they aren’t going to keep the property and aren’t taking care of it. Also they only give you one roll of toilet paper per bathroom which is weird since this home is for sale over 1 mil. Book another location not this one.

Home as described, everything in working order. Close to pool and short walk to beach. Bikes looked newer (though we didn’t ride them). Beach chairs available in garage. Ice maker was a plus.

Family Trip

Property was great and as advertised. The location is wonderful. We would recommend getting a new bed frame and matress for the upstairs bedroom with the single queen...its a beautiful antique but not comfortable for guests.

Couldn't Beat the Location!

We LOVED the location and would book here again in a heartbeat! The short little legs of our 3 year old could handle the quick walk to the pool without complaints, and even the 5 minute walk to the beach. The house was as-listed, and had tons included to ensure a comfortable stay- tons of kitchen ware, books/games, beach chairs & toys, bikes, the list goes on. Property owners do an exceptional job, but our complaints were with the management company. We were unsatisfied with the cleanliness, as we found hairs everywhere in the house, which appeared to be a sign of a quick/poor vacuum/cleaning job. We also could not check in even a minute early due to timed locks (although were would have been able to enter early due to an unsecured back door aka security issue) but were rushed out 10 minutes early by the cleaning crew at checkout. Overall, we loved our time in Destin and would book here again. Thanks to the owners for a comfortable stay & well cared for property!

Good Property

Everything about our stay was great except one major occurrence. During our stay, some of the guests were upstairs and the others were out back. A Southern Rentals rep knocked, no one answered because we did not hear. And instead of calling or leaving a note, she proceeded to let herself in and made herself known in a very rude manner, and left without apologizing. It was a huge invasion of privacy.

Fantastic Beach House Experience

We had a group of 7 people with our family and kids’ friends. This was the perfect place for us. There was plenty of space for everyone, a large well-equipped kitchen, big dining table, and all the amenities. We were a short walk to the beach and enjoyed using the community pool, too. The home had everything we needed and we were very comfortable. We had one minor issue with our door code the first night, but a quick phone call to the property managers and all was resolved. We loved our time here so much. I would highly recommend to anyone with a medium sized group!

Nice house, great location, certain rooms cold

Pros: great location, nice neighborhood, walking distance from the beach. The size is good and layout is great. Good proximity to restaurants, grocery and attractions. Southern vacation did respond by sending pest control and HVAC to handle issues listed below. Con: cleanliness (found a dead cockroach on the kitchen counter and a dead lizard in the family room). No extra toiler paper, soaps, no napkin in kitchen, no extra garbage bag. certain rooms in the house were cold (we had thermostat at 74 on the first floor and the bedroom was too hot and the family room/kitchen was cold). The maintenance guy came and said there isn't anything he could do.

Esta es la segunda vez que rento esta propiedad y sigo dando el mismo consejo, si el fee d ela limpieza es tan alto entonces pq las sabanas y edredones no estas lavados huelen a usados, en uno de los cuartos habia un condon y eso es inaceptable, por lo demas la casa tiene todo lo que necesitas para estar aunque deberian poner sabanas extras y limpias

Perfect!

What a great home for our vacation!!! This house was perfect for our two families!! It was fully stocked and had plenty of beach supplies in the garage. The gated community with all the amenities was the best! We loved our short walk to the beach. Our only complaint was the day after arrived our 5 boys went to play basketball (which is the whole reason we picked this place) they started resurfacing the court. It was out of commission for basically the whole week. We would have appreciated a heads up. That was upsetting and put a damper on things.

Family vacation

We had a wonderful vacation with extended family. The downstairs area was large enough to accommodate everyone comfortably and the kitchen was well stocked for cooking, could use a better knife set though. The downstairs mast was huge and perfect for a family member that couldn’t walk up stairs easily. Have the garage was a nice bonus!

Beautiful place to stay for a wonderful time.

The condo was beautiful with everything you needed in the kitchen and bedrooms. They forgot a pool key that was needed but someone always let us in.
