Our stay was great, the cottage is convenient, well furnished and the garden is lovely. Eleuthera is a marvelous place and that cottage is a great location to visit many places of the island.

Relaxing!!!Easy and convenient location.

Very well-eqipped. We even got used to the "charm" of the roosters. Banana trees, coconut palms and the sound of the ocean from the hilltop deck with view.

Short get away

This house worked perfect for what we were looking for. Somewhere to sleep at night and relax in the afternoon after going to the beaches and other excursions.

The cottage was perfect for us. Walking distance to the beach and you could see the sunrise fron the deck.

Great location and place!

Stayed here for five days. Great place to stay before our longer stay in Spanish Wells. You definitely need a vehicle as Eleuthera is 110 miles long. There are a few restaurants in the area, but others aren’t within walking distance. And since there is a kitchen, we took advantage of that as well. Especially for breakfast, and lunch.

This place was very clean. A convenient spot on the island to get to places north or south. We enjoyed a couple of local restaurants in the settlement. Explored the island land south to Tarpun Bay and north past the glass window bridge. The deck in the back was a cool place to hang out. Tried to contact Cecil but there was no response from him. Make sure to make daily plans if you stay here since you will want to get out and about.

Nice clean cottage with several amenities

This is a well-designed property with an outside elevated deck with partial view of the ocean. Air conditioning and wi-fi worked well. Easy parking and relatively quiet neighborhood. The property manager provides a thorough pamphlet with tips and suggestions for the cottage and surrounding area. We would definitely stay here again. Eleuthera has many beaches, but if you wish to visit them, be aware that many of the access roads are very rough and a high clearance vehicle is strongly recommended.

Perfect for a couple

Decided to go here with my boyfriend for my birthday. Perfect amount of space. The property grounds are pretty and the deck up the hill is really cool (especially at night). The shower has hot water, and the AC works well. You might have some visitors during your stay. One night we came back to a frog resting on the showerhead! We thought it was cool though. The location is decent, but not many food options. We ended up eating in gregory town for the most part. Eleuthera is such a beautiful place. I plan on renting this property when we come back.

Perfect little cottage

First: We loved being in a neighborhood on Eleuthera, instead of in a resort. The local residents are so friendly, as is the owner of the cottage. The entire process was super smooth. The owner (Cecil) lives next door. He has a booking manager who takes care of the reserved process, and she provides a lengthy intro about the area, and the house. It was truly worth reading in its entirety. The beach might as well have been our own, nobody there but me. We loved the small local grocery store, and eating at the Front Porch restaurant. I advise joing the Eleuthera Forum facebook page to help you get to know the island better too. The cottage is exactly as described, and the provided cooler was great for pur excursions. We froze bottles of water for ice, made sandwiches, and went exploring. The deck on the hill is perfect for morning sunrises and yoga.

Cozy place to stay near the beach

It was the perfect spot for our honeymoon! If you drive from North Eleuthera Airport, you pass the glass island bridge and queen's baths on the way. Definitely worth stopping by! We had some nice snorkeling on the beach that you can walk to from the cottage. Saw some fish and even a lionfish! Its on the calmer side of the island, so it was a good spot to swim. Cottage was nice! Its small, but perfect for 2 people. Plus the yard is really pretty with the palm trees! Theres a TON of nice places to eat within walking distance. Note that you have to point the remote at the AC unit to turn it on- that tripped us up a bit. The owner, Cecil, is super nice and lives right next door if you have any questions. There was a copy of a guidebook about the beaches of eleuthera in the cottage, which was really helpful! And the wifi was actually really good, which I wasn't expecting! A perfect, relaxing island getaway. :)

Amazing Stay at Coconut Cottage

We enjoyed our stay at Coconut Cottage. The listing was represented exactly as specified. It was the perfect little space for 2 of us. It was off season so everything on the island was a little dead and slow but we still enjoyed every second of our stay. The location is definitely outside of the usual tourist spots which is great if you're happy to mingle amongst the locals, but could be an inconvenience if you do not have a rental car. The cottage was well stocked with utensils and supplies. Even some bug spray which was nice! The bed was very comfortable which is usually my number one priority. The little deck in the back was the greatest relaxation spot. We laid out on the chaise lounges every night listening to music, listening to the waves and watching the stars. We only experienced minor inconveniences during our stay. The WiFi only worked for us on the first day, but I'm sure Cecil would have fixed ASAP had we informed him. But we were happy to disconnect and enjoy our vacation so we never let him know. I would definitely recommend this little place for the price. Especially if you want to mix in with the locals. My only other suggestion would be a board game or deck of cards for off-season nights when the island is slow :)

The cottage its self was well kept but, you don’t have any ocean views from the cottage, there is a home that was built that blocks the views. The “beach” is about a 3-5 minute walk but is right by a graveyard and Is rocky. Twin brothers and the front porch are both great restaurants BUT Da spot I wouldn’t suggest, trash everywhere and smells awful. The hot water in the cottage would only last 1-2 minutes, WiFi didn’t work and there were cockroaches in the cottage as well. You will have to rent a car if you want to go to beach, or do anything really. Roosters will start crowing at 4 am and will not stop. We ended our stay At coconut cottage after 3 nights and went else where.

We want to point out that the owners of Coconut Cottage are the same owners of Serenity House and Sea Spray Cottage all listed on VRBO and with over 250 five star reviews located online. All 3 listings are in the same exact same block of the Hatchet Bay location. We are Premier Partners as well and have been so since 2017. Never have we gotten a 2 star review in over 500 guests in the past 4 years. Jenna's review is a total outlier. The problem happened because Jenna never took the time to read our listing description which clearly states this is an renovated classic Bahamian Cottage in Hatchet Bay and that it is a local Bahamian experience not a touristy location. Jenna was expecting a Miami Beach or the like as later we realized through her communications after she vacated our cottage. Once she realized she did not like our location she unfortunately chose a strategy to complain about us as hosts and about our rental cottage to get a refund. She never told us about any issues during her stay and the owner who lives right next door checked in on her twice the first 3 days and she had no complaints. The pictures are not old and reflect the property exactly, there is no new house built as she claims blocking the view. After she left, without notifying anyone, she threatened to write a bad review and actually took the owners keys and beach chairs as leverage. She complained of a broad spectrum of issues covering roughly 10 topics. Some of those complaints were not consistent with other statements she made to VRBO and it became clear she was just making things up to attain a refund. VRBO reviewed the case thoroughly and decided that no refund would be processed which should tell anyone reading this all you need to know about her claims.

Une maison agréable avec un jardin sympa avec vue sur mer. Bien située dans le tiers supèrieur nord de l' île , les documents transmis par l'hôte sont bien pratiques pour découvrir l' île.

My name is Marielbys and I do the marketing for Coconut Cottage vacation rental. I love nature and the ocean and there is no time I am happier than when my 2 feet are sinking in the soft rose colored sand at some empty beach in Eleuthera!! I am a mom and wife and also own property closeby in Eleuthera. My family has been friends with Cecil for many years and he is the owner of the cottage. The actual cottage was built in 1985 with a total renovation completed in 2021.

Our rates are very inexpensive for what you get which is a large open style cottage with a full kitchen for cooking, fenced private grounds, walk into town, walk to 2 beaches, walk to grocery stores, bars and restaurants and all for less than you might pay for a typical island motel per night that has no kitchen and no ocean ocean views. There is so much to do and see at our convenient location. Cecil also has the best kayak rental rates on the island. Plus it is locally owned and operated compared to most other rentals so your money is going right back into the local economy.
