We’ve had a lot of different opportunities to rent through VRBO and this was one of the nicest and most well-appointed homes we’ve stayed in. The photos of the furnishings are not staged and you will find the home exactly as it’s been depicted on the VRBO site.
3 very comfortable bedrooms and a great room that easily fit the 6 adults and two infant grandchildren that spent the Christmas holiday together. The kitchen was fabulous and contained all the cookware you could ever want, from a simple meal to a gourmet feast.
The property is rural, but the home feels anything but… except that you really do get to enjoy cows grazing just outside the dining room windows. It was a real treat for the grand kids to get to see up close and not a bother for the older folks at all.
Lots to explore within minutes of the home, including a restored mining town in nearby Columbia State Park, as well as the town of Sonora with it’s easy to walk “downtown.”
One note for future travelers is that while the home does in fact have a TV, it does not have cable service, so you’re limited to using the TV more as a monitor for a laptop than an actual TV. The home does offer wireless Internet service though so in today’s world you can likely just stream whatever show it was you wanted to watch anyway. (That said, it was kind of nice not to have a TV on in the background and I’d say the lack of cable TV went largely un-noticed.)
It was quite chilly while we were there, dropping into the 20’s in the morning, but with two different temperature zones controlled by their own thermostats, one upstairs and one downstairs, it was always quite comfortable inside. I’d assume the same would be true for the summer months, as central air conditioning is available as well
Definitely a home we’d stay in again.
