We're not sure the year the building was built, but we do know original owner once had gatherings here. There must have been many great evenings singing songs around the player piano, which they left behind, but it was still rough living. The building had electricity but no running water or kitchen.
In 2006 the original owners sold the property; what would become the Honey House was used as a storage shed until we moved in in 2013. We continued to used it as a storage shed, until spring of 2015 when we started renovations.
As of April 2018, only family members and friends have used the building, and now that after we've concluded the testing phase, now opening it up to the public.
It is no longer a shed; we feel we've created a unique experience with the Honey House. This newly renovated Scandinavian-inspired interior has all the modern amenities: shower and bathroom (bath essentials, hair dryer, iron), a fully functional kitchen (refrigerator, microwave, stove, dishwasher, coffee, tea). A large sofa, TV, cable and a dinning area, a reading corner, mini-split for air/heat, 2 Ceiling fans and 5 sky lights. A sunny deck on the front and a sliding door leading to a shady deck off the back. The house is under a row of tall cedar trees and about 120 ft in the garden area behind main house on a land of 4 acres. If you like to keep your outdoor exercise routine while traveling this is a good place for you.
