We arrived to find a nice welcome package of snacks and a bottle of wine left by the owners. They had also asked our preferences for coffee pods for the Keurig machine, and when we arrived some of the pods were chicory coffee just as requested. The place was spotless, and there was a parking place reserved for us on the street if we wished (which we did, having rented a car). The apartment has a really nice open air veranda on two sides of the building, and folding chairs are provided for sitting out there. We did that a lot, taking in the sights and sounds of the neighborhood. The neighborhood is very pleasant, with diverse and interesting homes, most of which are lovingly cared for and show off New Orleans' distinctive architecture styles, a number of coffee shops, sandwich shops and restaurants, and of course there is the river. It is only two blocks away, with a bridge over the railroad tracks right close by, and when you cross the tracks you can walk along the river almost all the way to the French Quarter. Maybe a half hour, 45 minutes at most to walk from the apartment into the Quarter, and along the way you get to see all the river traffic -- ocean ships, barges, paddle wheelers, etc. We also drove to a number of places for plantation and bayou tours etc., and it was pretty easy to get to the Interstate from the apartment. We thought it was an excellent location and we had a great time.
