Absolutely loved our stay!

Great communication with the owners! The drive in through the wilderness set the tone, and we were greeted our first night by two curious deer right outside the window. The cabin was spotless, cozy, and stocked with everything we needed. We explored the area, shopped in Cross Lake, and enjoyed fantastic meals at Ox Lake Tavern, Norway Ridge Supper Club, and Mad Rabbits. But our favorite moments were on the deck, coffee in the morning, wine at sunset, and endless lake views. A perfect, peaceful getaway!

We had a wonderful time at the cabin this past week. It was peaceful and relaxing. The cabin was absolutely lovely and had everything we needed. We will certainly return again if the opportunity arises.

Awesome trip

Clean and comfortable. It got our family back on the Whitefish Chain. We did boating, fishing, swimming, skiing, shopping, eating out. So much fun.

Just like grandma's

We loved this little sweet cabin. As soon as i walked in i was rushed memories of staying at my grandparents cabin. Though it was small with only 1 bathroom it worked very well for our group of 5. The family room had tons of seating with seperate desginated areas. We didnt have great weather so it was nice to have a puzzle going on the kitchen table and snacks at the bar and another area for movies. Location is perfect! The deck was huge and perfect for a game of yard yatzee. The view of from the inside and the deck was nearly unobstructed, difinately facing the best part of the lake. Pickle ball court was a fun bonus. You can tell the owners have kept up on maintenance. Would difinately stay here again!

Nice and quiet

We really enjoyed our stay for the weekend. Wish we could've stayed longer. The cabin was very clean. There is a nice selection of pots and pans and pretty much any other basic kitchen things. The back patio is pretty decent sized. It was nice for relaxing. The bedrooms were cute. The whole cabin gave the feel of being at my grandparent's. The lake was nice. Temp was perfect. The only downside were all of the weeds. Didn't make for a good swimming experience. Overall we really enjoyed our stay! The host was also very prompt with responses to any questions I had. Would Def stay again!

Our family loved our stay here. The cabin was extremely clean. Not having to leave our dog at home was a nice part of the trip, as well.

Great July Stay

This is our second summer staying in this little log cabin. We love that it feels secluded down the dirt road. We spent a lot of time on the dock fishing (perfect and prolific for little kids) and brought some floats this year to get out a bit deeper from the weedy shore. We rented a boat from Bertha's Boatworks for a few days and really enjoyed exploring the chain! Cabin is rustic and small but that is what our family looks forward to!

Nostalgic and quiet

The property was in a great location. It was remote and quiet, yet a quick 10 minute trip to town. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the large deck and fishing off the dock. It definitely helped to make countless memories.

Great cabin on the lake

Great place to stay on the whitefish chain. We have stayed here several times. Great space for the entire family. Cabin is very homey. Trout is the best lake on the chain.--- super clean and fairly quiet. Love it!!

Perfect trip up north with family!

Everything about the cabin was fantastic! Great view, good fishing, and great dock to park a pontoon. Parking the trailer to the pontoon was a little tricky but we made it work. We will definitely be back!

Great Private Spot Surrounded by Majestic Pine Trees

Great Rustic Cabin with all the Amenities. The setting is beautiful surrounded by majestic Pine Trees. Great Views on the Lake Side Deck. Big Living Room to hang. Pups loved the yard and deck to hang. Going back next year!

Quiet and private with great view

We just spent a week and rotated two of our kids and their families during it. We all had fun and the cabin grew on us. Great views from the deck. We have been coming to the Whitefish Chain for decades and first time on trout. It was nice to "base" in the middle of the chain. We put 212 miles on our boat during the week. Chris was available and responsive. The dock is a little old, but we were glad it was not wobbly with so many grandkids using it. I liked the rustic road in. Neighbors were very friendly and kind and welcoming.

Great cabin for the family. Perfect location and everything you need for your stay! They even welcome the pups :-) Great hosts-- super quick responses to any questions you ask. Have stayed here several times.

Summer 2023 Family Getaway

We had such a wonderful time and the accommodations were great!! The kids loved how comfortable the beds were and the view was amazing!! It was such a peaceful area and we enjoyed sitting on the deck and having a bonfire and we had rented a boat and the dock was perfect for that. We just loved the personalized gift that we received and it made us feel special and will remind of of our amazing trip!! Thank you again for allowing us to rent your amazing property!!

Our Great-grandfather purchased this land long ago to build cabins for his three sons. Our grandparents owned this cabin and now we are the fourth generation of our family entrusted with the piece of Trout Lake history and are excited to offer this freshly refurbished yet very original pristine cabin on the north shore of Big Trout Lake, Mn for your summer enjoyment.

Southern views from the north shore of Big Trout (the gem on the Whitefish chain!) equates to extended hours of sunshine! Big Trout is a wonderful recreation lake for swimming, boating, fishing, sailing, kayaking, SUP and more. You are opposite the lake from channel traffic, but if you're a boater the channel to the Whitefish Chain gives access to many lakes, marinas, restaurants and Dairy Queen!

This property boasts an extended dock that reaches past the shallow grade. No drop off here which makes for great swimming and peaceful raft floating.

The knotty pined interior, log cabin is set on a peaceful, pine-lined lot. Enjoy your meals on the round oak dining table, or even better, the newly renovated deck. Bring your food and beverages and the amenities are turn-key - vacation ready!
