Looking for an authentic cabin getaway? Lazy Pines is the place! This classic Minnesota cabin has all the modern amenities, while maintaining true Northwood's cabin charm. (See the cabin's 300+, 5-star reviews at listing 692976.)

Main level: open great room/kitchen/living area with vaulted ceilings and a large wood-burning fieldstone fireplace (firewood provided). A screened porch overlooks beautiful Lake O’Brien and the lakeside primary bedroom has a queen sized bed, with beautiful lake views.

Lower level: the walkout basement includes 2 additional bedrooms - the first has a queen-sized bed, and the second is a dedicated bunk-room. Additionally, there is an informal bunk area with a full-size lower bunk/single upper bunk. The lower-level bathroom has beautiful upgraded finishes, including a custom tile shower with river-rock flooring. The living area includes a built-in game/puzzle table, and a cozy sectional/entertainment area—perfect for rainy days or movie nights. The lower level also offers great lake views and easy access to a large lakeside firepit just steps from the water (firewood included).

Amenities: 2023 Bennington pontoon included, Wi‑Fi, two HD smart TVs, granite countertops, wood plank floors, reclaimed details, and modern mechanicals (AC, new appliances, softened water).

Location: 5 miles east of Crosslake on spring‑fed Lake O’Brien (24' clarity—the clearest in the watershed). Surrounded by mature pines with about 5 miles of shoreline, including state-owned undeveloped frontage. Summer activities: fishing, skiing, wakeboarding, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and a popular sandbar gathering spot. Quiet paved township road ideal for walks or bike rides. Winter: ice fishing, cross‑country skiing, snowshoeing, and easy access to groomed snowmobile trails.

Sleeping & occupancy: Maximum 9 guests. Sleeps: 2 queen beds (one per bedroom), 3 single beds in bunk areas, and one double (bottom bunk). Calendar is kept up to date; available dates shown are likely available. After booking you’ll receive a detailed “what to bring” list.

The pontoon is available early May through late September. Prices include all fees—no hidden charges.

Excellent stay. We really enjoyed the lake and the cabin. Wish we spent more time in the porch but spent a lot of time out on the lake and pontoon and fires inside. The design of the interior is beautiful!

We had an amazing week with our immediate family! The cabin had a quintessential cabin feel with beautiful views, wonderful boat, great screened in porch and easy access to the water. We couldn't have asked for better weather and we all left feeling it was a super family vacation!

A great place to unwind with young kids. The lake is good for swimming and catching little sunfish. The pontoon is newer and in good condition. The water frontage in September is too weedyand mucky though

Cabin was amazing, pontoon was very nice. Beach was very dirty, with no access to the lake. Ladder on deck was not fastened, and very dangerous. Overall, very good experience.

Wonderful cabin, woke up to birds in the morning and loon calls at night. Pontoon boat was perfect and clean, caught some bass and sunfish.

A great property in a great setting. The availability of the pontoon boat was a definate plus. There are a lot of stairs which made it harder for the elderly people in our party, but if that is not a concern, everything else met expectations.

Wonderful stay at this property love the fireplace the screened porch having a boat at our feet. Also, the bedroom upstairs had a beautiful view. The Kitchen was well stocked and the bedrooms downstairs were nice for the family members to be together. We would definitely come back and the front yard is gorgeous as well. The walk up the driveway and I loved being able to walk around in the area.

We had the absolute best weekend! Matt and Renae were gracious hosts who communicated everything perfectly before our arrival. The check-in and check-out process was incredibly smooth. It was a picturesque 'up north' getaway, and having the pontoon was such a fantastic bonus for enjoying the spring sunshine. 110% recommend!

This place is AMAZING. Absolutely perfect for a quiet getaway from the world. Matt and Renee are incredible hosts, the cabin is extremely comfortable and very well stocked. We truly enjoyed our time and will definitely be back.

Wonderful getaway

A surprise bday weekend filled with fishing, water and sunshine. The cabin was clean and cozy and the pontoon was beautiful. Great location and would definitely visit again.

Take in the nearby slopes with cross-country skiing and snowboarding, or check out other outdoor activities such as snowmobiling and ice skating.
