We have just had a great week at Thenac. Our hosts Didier and Nathalie were very friendly and accommodating. It helped that they spoke good English. We rented the gite for two people and there was a lot of space including two dining areas in the cottage and an external table as shown in the photo. Everything in the Gite was as expected and looked just as in the photos.The weather was excellent do we eat all meals outside on the terrace. There was a bar-b-que available which we made good use of. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment! Dishwasher, washing machine, oven, hob, microwave, fridge and freezer were all availableThere was a covered and private car parking area directly adjacent to the Gite so carrying bags to and from the car was minimal.We had the swimming Pool to ourselves and were surmised how big this was. We inevitably sept time in he afternoon around the pool.We were made to feel very welcome and it was sad to have to leave but we have no hesitation in recommending this property.

A lovely place to stay with a warm greeting from Nathalie and Didier. The home had everything we needed and was comfortable. The pool was clean and warm (26-27c Mid July). A nearby boulangerie was great for croissants and bread, supermarkets 10 mins away. With children you need to travel a bit (30mins ) to find the more family orientated activities. The coast is 30 mins away, but the nicest beaches 50mins away (Grand Cote and La Palmyre). We would definitely stay again if in the area.

Super Location.

Belle maison au calme bien aménagée, propre et fonctionelle. La piscine très appréciable. Super accueil des propriétaires. De belles balades à faire dans le coin.

Saintes 2023

A great location for exploring Saintes and the surrounding area, Saintes is a good sized town with plenty to see without feeling too big. Also pretty villages to see in every direction. The gite had everything we could need and the covered outside area was a lovely space to eat and relax. The pool was perfect and very well kept and very welcome in the August heat. Nathalie and Didier are great hosts, friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. We'd definitely recommend this for a family holiday and would love to come back again.

Un gîte à recommander !

Gîte très confortable et très pratique. Piscine au top ! Terrasse donnant sur petit jardin paysager très reposant. Proximité des commerces (épicerie, boulangerie, boucherie, presse, etc...) et marché local hebdomadaire très appréciable. Propriétaires très sympathiques, discrets et toujours aux petits soins de leurs hôtes.

Fantastisch privé zwembad en fijn huis

Dit fijne huis is van alles voorzien en heeft een groot, heerlijk zwembad, een pingpongtafel en een tuin. De Franse eigenaren zijn heel vriendelijk en wonen ernaast. Vanuit deze uitvalsbasis in het dorp Thénac hebben we (gezin) de regio verkend. Zoals naar het nabije Saintes en andere plaatsen, strand en zee (meest nabije mooie strand op 40 minuten bij St-Georges-de-Didonnie), prachtige Côte Sauvage, eiland Ile d’Oléron (1:15 uur), etc. Er is volop te kiezen. We hadden een top week!

Leuke gite, goed gelegen om de streek te verkennen

De woning is goed ingericht en heeft een prachtige tuin. De kinderen hebben genoten van het zwembad en de katten. Prijs/kwaliteit zeker in orde. De locatie is goed. De oceaan, enkele leuke steden en dorpen alsook prachtige kastelen zijn vlot bereikbaar.

Wonderful property with beautiful pool and garden

We spent a week in this lovely property. The owners are very friendly and helpful and we had a relaxing time round the gorgeous pool and gardens. Thenac has a little shop with everything you need and Saintes is just down the road with large supermarkets. Fantastic area with lots to do. We will definitely be coming back!

Campagne et convivialité!

Situé dans un petit village près de Saintes, ce gîte me rappelle la campagne de mon enfance. Un grand jardin avec des espaces aménagés pour la détente (hamacs, salons), les jeux (pétanque, ping-pong, ballon, vélo, jeux de société, bibliothèque) et une grande piscine bien exposée avec transats. La location est bien équipée (lave linge, lave vaisselle, literie confortable) et spacieuse pour 4, elle a un charme rustique mais rénovée et propre. Nathalie et Didier sont très accueillants et d'une grande gentillesse et ne manquent pas de nous conseiller pour découvrir cette magnifique région : Saintes et les bords de la Charente, La Rochelle, son magnifique Aquarium et les "Francofolies", Marennes et"la cité de l'Huitre", Royan et "un violon sur le sable", Brouage et sa cité Vauban,l'île de Ré et ses pistes cyclabes, etc....et cette belle campagne propice à la cueillette des cèpes, à la chasse aux cagouilles ou à la pêche aux palourdes! Idéal en famille et entre amis, par tous les temps, à l'écart du tumulte de la côte...mais à 40mn seulement! Nous y retournerons avec grand plaisir!

Très bon séjour

Très bon séjour. Un excellent accueil. Le gîte est confortable et bien équipé. La piscine et les espaces extérieurs parfaits. Peut-être juste la literie à améliorer pour la chambre d'adultes. En termes de tourisme, on a le côté intérieur avec Saintes et Cognac à courte distance et les plages ne sont pas bien loin non plus. à recommander.

Very nice and roomy gite with greatswimming pool

We stayed in Thenac the last two weeks of July 2016. The gite was nicely roomy for our family of 5 (incl. 3 adult kids). We had great weather and ate outdoors every day on the terrace, cooking on the outdoor BBQ. The swimming pool was absolutely great. We did a number of outings to the isles (Ile d'Oleron, Ile de Re, and Ile d'Aix) places (La Rochelle, Rochefort) and the wonderful beaches on the Cote Sauvage. In short a great location which was made even better by wonderfully nice owners who were very friendly, helpful and extremely nice. Daan Makkink, Christine Anderton, Max, Kate and Josie.

Séjour très agréable

Séjour très agréable, gite tout juste rénové, spacieux et propre! Grande piscine également très propre et sécurisée pour les enfants. Propriétaires chaleureux et très accueillants. Le tout faisant de très bonnes vacances. On vous le conseille.
