This cabin was booked late in the game, after many of the more popular options further north were spoken for. This ended up working in our favor as this place was fantastic! A quick drive up from the Twin Cities to a very quiet, peaceful, not way up north lake.
The cabin is very accommodating and is well prepared for guests. The walk out deck, yard, and beach were the best features noted by our party. We were able to launch our 17 foot fishing boat and tie up to the dock with no problems.
The fishing was good. We caught big sunnies off the dock and plenty of bass and pike from the boat to allow for a fish fry the last night of our trip.
The kids enjoyed playing on the beach, swimming, and jumping off the dock. A nice weed free beach and swimming area was a big plus. The weather allowed our family to be outside for almost the entire trip and there is a perfect spot for campfires to end each night right on the beach.
Our sleeping arrangements required the kids to sleep in the same room as some of the adults, which wasn't a problem, as everyone was so tuckered out from our long days outside. If the kids were a little older I would have definitely taken up Gary on the option to rent out the boathouse and let the kids have their own little sleepover in there.
Overall the cabin is very nice and we didn't feel we were roughing it in the slightest. It was very comfortable and had a home away from home type feeling.
Gary, the owner, is great. He was very responsive leading up to our trip. He would email, text, and even called me to answer some of the more detailed questions I had about our stay. Once we arrived he even offered up some additional amenities for us to use while we stayed.
This is a very nice rental option, from the cabin, to the lake, to the amenities offered. The owner of the property really takes pride in his cabin and making sure his guests have a fun, relaxing time and it shows. We hope to be back again!
