Waterfront Cabin on Beautiful Peavy Lake! Sandy Beach with Crystal Clear Waters!

This newly renovated lake cabin is perfect for your next family getaway! Located less than 1.5 hours from Minneapolis this beautiful cabin has 2,600 finished square feet, 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. This cabin can comfortably accommodate 14 guests. It is situated on the beautiful and clean peavy lake in Hillman, MN. This cabin has great additions like 2 kayaks, a canoe, grill, private dock, sand beach and a 20 foot pontoon is also available to rent! The home is settled on 1.5 peaceful acres that has a private pond and 138 feet of lakeshore.

This wooded lot provides privacy and gives a feel of seclusion. When you're not outside, the stunning interior is sure to impress. With a fully equipped kitchen, wet bar, foosball table, free Wi-Fi and x-box there is something to entertain everyone. The two story wall of windows gives beautiful lake views from the moment you enter the front door.

Peavy lake is located in Morrison county. It has beautiful clear water and a hard sand bottom. The lake is140 acres, has a max depth of over 60 feet and a public boat access. The public boat access has a concrete ramp and public dock located three driveways away. Fishing on the lake is phenomenal. Species found in this lake include Walleye, Bass, Perch, northern pike, Crappie and sunfish.

This cabin is private but still close to your necessities. It is situated less than 10 miles from Mille Lacs lake and less than 40 miles from Brainerd. Activities include state parks, movie theaters, shopping, grand casino and a wide variety of dining. This area is home to wonderful snowmobile trails and cross country trails and the Soo Line trail.

In order to make your stay comfortable for everyone we do not allow smoking, pets, events, camping, parties or large gatherings. in order to maintain safety at the property there are security cameras on the outside of the home. There are no interior facing cameras and cameras can be viewed on the TV in the lower bedroom.

The cabin was extremely clean and Tom was great to work with. He communicated quickly whenever we had a question. The kitchen was great and all appliances worked well! After a thunderstorm most of the sand washed into the lake, but of course, that wasn't anyone's fault. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Get Away

We had an amazing time at the lake. The house was beautiful with everything we needed. Very clean and comfortable. Fishing was a bust, but we enjoyed the pontoon and beach area. Will definitely stay again.

Family vacation.

We loved our time here for family vacation with our adult kids, total of 10 people. Beautiful lake, very clean. We spent alot of time on floaties, on the deck visiting, eating and playing games, and also fishing and bonfires a few nights. Easy check in, good communication. We would definitely come again!

Our family of 11 spent a week at this Peavy Lake lake house. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but there were some issues. The house was nicely updated, clean and fit our needs very well. The lake was good for fishing and swimming and we enjoyed it. There was ample space for our three cars close to the house. The firepit is dated but we were happy to have it. However, there were some negatives that are relevant for future renters. The pontoon boat functioned fine and got us where we needed to be; however, it was dirty and not well-kept. The beach was not quite as advertised. The actual usable water space was small and the weeds were very thick around most of the dock. We did our swimming in the middle of the lake. The other issue with the beach and the yard was goose poop. Apparently, geese enjoy the beach and yard and we spent a considerable amount of time raking and shoveling the area to make it suitable for our kids to run around. When we brought this issue to the owner's attention, he reluctantly cleaned some of the poop but claimed no responsibility for cleaning the mess. While we were there we saw geese in the water but they never came into the yard. If the yard is clean when you arrive, you may find that geese stay away when there are people around. I am giving this property a 3 star because, overall, it was a nice stay. However, future renters may want to check on the condition of the yard and the boat.

Thank you for your input. However, the pontoon boat is kept outside on the dock, it just got pressure washed again had new seats and a new bimany top installed before you srrived and it is not part of the VRBO rental. Again......we have absolutely no control over the wildlife, you were told the geese have been frequently coming onto the beach and were given a rake and a shovel just in case this happens.

Great place on the lake!

Getting to the property was east and the house had all we needed. Our annual family get together of 13 fit nicely. Being able to rent the pontoon was great. The kitchen and backyard were perfect.

Great place for a group retreat!

Our men's group had a great time utilizing this property for a retreat. We enjoyed swimming, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and sitting around the fire pit in the evenings. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and enjoy meals together. Great space overall!

A Great Place!

We highly recommend this cabin for any family. It is very clean and well stock with supplies. It is very convenient to the lake with a sandy beach. The fire pit is ideally located overlooking the lake. The owners were easy to work and answered our questions in a very timely manner. Our family had a wonderful time.

Peavy Lake Home

This was a very nice rental home. The lake was nice, we did lots of fishing and swimming. There was plenty of sleeping room for all of us. The grandkfids loved having the loft where they could sleep and hangout. The kitchen was big and it was great having another refrigerator downstairs for pop and juice. Would definintly stay here again.

Summer Fun!

We had our 3 adult children, their spouses and our grandkids with us for a summer vacation. The home was clean and just right for our needs. The lake was awesome. Grandkids caught fish, went kayaking and swimming. Lawn area was great for them to run around and the fire pit saw use every evening for smores and hobo pies. It was a great week at the lake for the entire family!

Family getaway

This was our first experience through VRBO where we didn’t feel completely comfortable and welcomed. Honest feedback.. the host could lighten up a bit in the hospitality department. We did have a great time with family and the water front and lake were beautiful.

Family vacation

We LOVED IT. so peaceful, full of nature sights and sounds. It was myself and the kids, my grandchildren and their significant other. The fishing was spotty, but not a bust. Shopping and casino were close. (30-45 minutes away) Kayaks and canoeing were very fun. Firepit fires at night making smores We played cards the nights it rained. The week went quickly.

Vacation 2024

We enjoyed our stay except for no sun. Fishing was good, and we enjoyed playing games in the back yard. Upstairs bedrooms a bit small. The kitchen was very nice, but a bit small for people moving about. We like to sit out on porch decks….the front and back porches were very small for group gatherings. Overall, a 4 out of 5 rating.

Great Cabin on Quiet Lake

We had a Great Vacation at this private well kept cabin! The lake is small and quiet. We enjoyed kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding. The fishing was good we caught large northerns, a few medium bass and sunnies. The fire pit and beach are wonderful just a few steps from cabin, great for parents with younger kiddos. The cabin was well stocked with most everything we needed. We were a larger group and could have used a few extra blankets, comforters. We wish it would have had an outside table for picnics. (We brought our own table) They do have a lot of Adirondack chairs. and seating. We would definitely rent this cabin again!

I don't understand about having extra bedding when the house has accommodations for 14 which is the max allowed guests for this property, each bed has a comforter and sheets with extra blankets and pillows in the closets.

Great vacation spot for families

We really enjoyed our stay! We had children ranging ages 4-14, parents, and grandparents. There was something for everyone! The lake is small and quiet. The kids could fish off the dock. The beach is large and sandy. The water is a little weedy, but with enough clear patches that the kids didn’t mind. The lake water was low this year so the swimming area was probably smaller than usual. We also couldn’t use the pontoon because the water was low but we still had plenty to do. The kayaks/canoe were great and we loved being able to wake up, sit by the lake, and watch the loons. Would be great for stand-up paddle boarding if you bring your own! We also enjoyed stargazing in the back yard at night by the fire pit. The home is clean and well-stocked. The dining table in the kitchen is little small, so we brought a folding table to have additional seating outside which worked well. It has two refrigerators which was so helpful for a large group. We used the grill one night. Parents will love that you can easily watch the kids by the dock/water from the kitchen windows and deck. Lots of space around the home on all sides for kids to play outside, too. The basement level gets very cool with AC, upper levels are comfortable. Easy 1.75 hr. drive from Mpls/St. Paul. We had a great time on day trips to Kathio State Park and Paul Bunyan Land (less than 30 mins away). Small stores to grab supplies with 6 mins drive. I would highly recommend this location. Thanks for letting us visit!!

The space is very nice, it was perfect for our group. The small sandy beach was great for our kids to play on and the shallow water meant that the small kids could wade easily. They were plenty of dishes and silverware so there was no stress about having to wash dishes constantly. The dishwasher and washer and dryer worked really well. The beds were comfortable as were the couches in the living room.The house was very responsive!I would say there are a few things that could be improved. There are very few windows with screens thus the windows could not be opened without insects flying inside. This was unfortunate because the weather was not hot at all and it would have been nice to have fresh air. In the kitchen, there were only small baking sheets and we had to go to the store to buy some for our group. The kayaks are left outside on the ground and when we try to use them, they were filled with mouse excrement and tons of insects. One of the main reasons we picked this property was for the use of kayaks and canoes and it was not easy to clean the kayak to actually be able to use it. We have stayed at a previous property that had a shed that contained all of the watercraft and life jackets and sand toys so everything was in nice working order. One surprising thing was at the grill was charcoal only, it would have been helpful for this to be mentioned so we would have come prepared with supplies including charcoal to use a charcoal grill as none was provided.

Thank you for your review of the bobber stop. The shed is a good idea for the water items, i will look into this and build a rack for the kayaks and the canoe. The grill description is under the kitchen and cooking description about the property, it states the grill is charcoal and to bring your own to use. I do apologize for the screens, the party before you tore both patio screens off and we have not gotten them back from the repair place yet.
