I booked this property for a relaxing weekend with a group of friends, and we were extremely disappointed.Several issues affected our stay. The house was not stocked for its advertised capacity of 16 guests: there were not enough towels, and the provided soap, shampoo, and other essentials were insufficient for a large group. Many of the dishes we took from the cabinets were not clean. The basement beds were uncomfortable, and the bedding felt low quality. One downstairs bathroom had a window without a curtain, creating a significant privacy concern because the window faced the street.The atmosphere of the property was not welcoming. There were signs throughout the house warning of fines, including fines tied to noise levels monitored by a decibel meter and penalties for things such as leaving the garage door open for more than 2min. While we understand the need for house rules, the number and tone of these warnings made the stay feel uncomfortable, like we were being watched.The most frustrating experience occurred when we received a call from the management company at 10:03 p.m., just minutes after quiet hours began at 10:00 p.m. We had simply been playing board games and laughing. We were told there had been a noise complaint and warned that another complaint would result in a fine - we believe its an automated system with the decibel monitor.

Wonderful stay

Had a bachelor party in Steamboat Springs and comfortably slept up our party of 7. The view from the balcony was pretty and all the appliances worked as well. The space in this place is huge and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Gig’em!

Great stay

The property is perfect for a large group. The home is very spacious, well equipped and in a great location. We had everything we needed to have an amazing family weekend. Everything was really clean and the check in process was smooth. There was a snow storm during our stay and the property was shoveled by the time we woke up. Check out was a little early but otherwise everything else was amazing!

Nice House But Room for Improvement

Overall, this was a nice house that easily accommodated our party of 8 (and had room for more). The main area of the house was very nice and worked well for dining, games, cooking. There were a few things that could have been improved. The bottom level smelled of cigarette smoke, the coffee maker didn't work, and one of the bathrooms had a major ant problem.

Unfit for renting

The reeked like cigarette smoke or mold. The entire downstairs area with the 2 bunkrooms was not habitable, so we had to vacate the property after 1 night. The property manager, Retreatia, was not helpful and did not fully refund our planned 7 day stay. Our grandson slept in out closet due to the issued. The bedspreads were ripped, no lighting in bedrooms. The house needs seriius updating.

Chateau Belle

We enjoyed our stay at Chateau Belle very much. The description matches well with what the house. It is very nice to have 3 ensuite bedrooms, the kitchen is great for large groups, the locations is great. However, the house could use some TLC; blinds are bit wonky, toaster didn't work and the bedrooms REALLY, REALLY need some better lighting. The lamps in the master bedroom were super tiny, hardly give any light at all. Both secondary bedrooms were almost ridiculous, you certainly can't read in bed. We saw this in feedback from other people and had hoped this was fixed but it wasn't. And nightstands in the secondary bedrooms would also be nice! (This is an easy fix with Walmart down the street.) But as stated above, over all the house is nice and we enjoyed our stay.

Serious problems - hopefully now getting resolved

We are a family of 14 who wanted a big comfortable house to stay together. The house could have been perfect - but our stay was plagued with serious problems, ranging from a broken dishwasher and ice machine to long outdated smoke detectors that went off in the middle of the night. Repeated calls to mgmt were unsuccessful in getting ANY of these issues fixed — although they did ultimately offer us decent compensation for our trouble. But we would have gladly paid the money for a problem-free stay! Please check that all of these issues have been resolved before renting. It could be a great place!

Big cabin located close to everything

The location of the house was great. It was clean. Kitchen was perfect for cooking Big meals for a family of 16. Ice machine does not work. Fridge downstairs does not work. Or we just didn’t figure out how to work. No AC but kept windows open and that kept the house cool. Might be an issue for the hotter weekends tho. Neighbors where nice and have a cute brown dog that loved coming over to say hi. ER is just a couple blocks away. Walmart is 3 minutes away. Safeway is 5 minutes away. Downtown steamboat is 8 minutes away. Strawberry park hot springs is 23 minutes away. Would stay here again.

Wonderful Vacation

The property was lovely and clean. We were three families, each with two teenagers. Everyone was quite comfortable. The only minor issues were that (a) no part of the driveway -- not even the top -- was plowed on the morning of a major snow storm. We had to shovel our way out and were, therefore, substantially delayed getting to the slopes; (b) the overhead light and standing lamp in the first floor bedroom were both broken. We asked the management company to fix the overhead light and/or replace the standing lamp upon check in. When we left 6 days later, neither light was fixed, leaving no light in that bedroom for our entire vacation; and (c) the kitchen is beautiful, but not very well appointed. There are plenty of cups and glasses but enough cooking utensils, no tea kettle, not enough serving bowls, etc.

Nice property but needs maintenance

This home has great potential but it is need of some additional furnishings and maintenance. Though we had a wonderful time, there were a number of easily remedied issues that negatively impacted our experience. First, check-in was supposed to be at 4 p.m. but the cleaning crew was still there and we were not allowed access until after 5 p.m. The main master bedroom is well furnished but the other king and the queen bedrooms had no furnishings other than the bed. A nightstand or two and a lamp would be helpful. The ceiling fan light in the king pointed upward and did not illuminate anything. The house sleeps 16 but there are only 7 dining chairs and 4 counter stools so we could not eat together. Kitchen wares were a bit skimpy too -- there were only 5 wine glasses and a few champaign glasses (unless you wanted plastic) and the plates were all chipped.. The wine fridge and basement fridge did not work at all, and the icemaker in the kitchen freezer did not work either. These are features we had planned to make heavy use of so we reported the issues on our 2nd day and were told that a work order was submitted but no one ever came to address it. The dishwasher did not clean dishes either unless you put it on heavy duty, extra, rinse, sanitize, etc. -- basically all the extra settings. Otherwise it didn't even clean the coffee out of the bottom of a coffee cup. The thermostat did not work either. The coat hook rack in the mudroom area angles down so coats fall off -- easy to fix but just indicative of the lack of attention to detail in this home. I get that it snows a lot but the driveway was completely iced over making it treacherous to come and go, and it was impossible to use one bay of the garage due to the huge ice pile in front of it. The furnishings in the living room are oddly arranged. There is a couch and love seat facing one another at the fireplace, but only a love seat facing the TV. As a family who loves sports, we wanted to watch football and basketball games together. In the area with the TV there is a giant bookcase that serves no purpose. If the TV were relocated to that wall it would allow you to have a full couch facing it, along with the existing love seat on the side and you could add another love seat or a couple chairs where the TV currently sits. Though we spent most of our time out of the house enjoying outdoor activities, it would have been nice to be able to relax together after dinner in the evening.

Second time we stayed here for baseball tournament. Great house, but this time there was a smoking smell in basement. Called and they came and sprayed. Very responsive. Great place. No other issues.

Great house, great location

Great property! Not far from the slopes, though it's a bit far to walk. The house was fantastic and the neighborhood just as nice. Highly recommend this rental!
