Imagine stepping out of the living room through the glass sliders and onto the shaded deck, the water stretches out to the forested hills across the way. The undisturbed water creates a mirror, perfectly reflecting the picturesque landscape surrounding it. In the early morning, a thin mist rolls over the water and onto the shore, creating an almost ethereal effect. You take a deep breath of the fresh Maine air with a cup of coffee warming your hands. You cannot help but feel completely relaxed, stress entirely dissipating from your mind and body. This was the whole reason you came, and the feeling will stay with you for days after you leave.
We are a family of four, our kids are 3 and 7. We've never used VRBO before, and this was our first vacation as a family. We absolutely could not have been happier with our experience and plan on booking a full week next year. If you have small children, look no further, this is the place for you.
The things that initially drew us to this property were the waterfront and access to kayaks to explore the water. The listing doesn't do this property justice, and honestly nothing could; you're just going to have to come stay here yourself. While just my family stayed here, this home could very easily accommodate another family of four, with the parents downstairs and the kids all sleeping together in the large "kids" room.
My kids took full advantage of the toys at the camp, but we spent most of our time in the gigantic (and I do mean gigantic) yard between the house and the water. There was enough space on the grass to have four or five activities happening at once. My son loved walking into the water and seeing tadpoles, polliwogs, and frogs (hoppies) and small fish (flippies). We spent hours on the public beach which was barely used by anyone but us for a majority of the time we were there. We hunted for cool rocks, shells, and mussels! We also took the kayaks out and went on an adventure. My kids loved it!
The inside of the house was perfect. Homeowners have cooking materials (pots/pans) for use, the Wifi was an absolute must since cell service was almost nil, the beds are comfortable, the home itself is cutely decorated and very inviting. The best room in the house is the living room with the glass sliders leading out to the deck. From there, you can see the water, trees, hills, the whole picture. The screened-in porch on the deck was used daily.
Thank you so much for use of your beautiful home!
