The house was wonderful. Very unique built. Loved the mountain modern mid century feel, massive natural wooden ceiling beams, large windows and asphalt, or not sure what to call it, flooring. It felt so good on the feet and I am sure they are very practical too.
Seems to me that the house was designed to control the temperature naturally, it did work, the temperature in the house was great, not hot not cold, maybe we just hit the perfect temperature season, but no complaints. The house was clean and well stocked with dishes, we had everything we needed. We had dinner outside every night, love that wooden dining table, the views from the house are nice. There is a bench just up the hill to enjoy sunsets. My husband and I went up there, and he whispered "oh look, a bear, and it turned out to be a cow :)))) in the neighbors field. Wish we enjoyed the house more, i didn't discover how nice the hammock was until our last night there. It really is a nice setting, cool and fun house. Though we spent most of the time hiking and driving around. Mazama is the closest town to some really nice hikes. We did Maple pass, it was great, heard some marmots whistling, the views are amazing. Went to Blue Lake and saw goats with their baby goats, did the Ross dam, Thunder Knob. The weather didn't cooperate for Easy pass, (maybe next time) but it is also closer to Mazama then the other side. Loved the western feel of Mazama and Winthrop, highly recommend this house or if not available at least this side of the mountains. We did go to the West side and it just wasn't as special. If we ever come back I would love to stay in this house again and maybe come in July to see wildflowers in bloom.
