Beyond beautiful Condo in Lake Como that was perfect for my spouse, son and parents to enjoy space and time together while also having privacy. The view of the lake and mountains is to die for. Can not recommend Barbra and Manuela enough, the entire stay was magical.

Great place on Lake Como. It had everything we needed. Parking, elevator, spices, stocked kitchen. Manuela the manager and Barbara the owner were great to work with as well. My daughter loved the little studio and it gave her a place to have time on her own and still be with us. I think you need a car but there is great parking.

We absolutely loved our stay. The views were even more breathtaking than the photos. The home was very clean and well stocked. We really liked having the separate studio. It was very convieniently located to the Ferry Stop which was a great way to see the lake. We also hired a private boat with a driver for a few hours, he was on the list of recomendations. Barbara and Manuela were amazing. Check in and check out were a breeze. Highly recommend !

Amazing family vacation

The property is in a fantastic location and close to restaurants and local cafe. Almost all rooms have access to a balcony with breathtaking views of Lake Como. There is plenty of space and access to an indoor pool and outdoor sunning terrace. In addition, the location provides easy access for a walk in lake swim. The local assistant, Manuela, made the check in process simple and provided great restaurant and experience recommendations. Our family enjoyed our time together and we hope to return soon!

Lovely appartment on a fantastic location

clean apartment with magnificent view on to lake Como. We also loved the location as it is a very quiet area - however, you can easily find a buzz in either Laglio or Carate. If you go in summertime, just keep in mind that the apartment on the top floor and has no airco - it gets hot - just enjoy the breeze from the lake ;-)

Nice Apt with breathtaking view

This is a very nice place to stay if you are looking for an apartment. There was one air conditioner in the dining room . There was also a fan. The bottle of wine given as a gift for our stay was appreciated. Plenty of space and the view was stunning.

Amazing views. Very clean and had all the staples we needed. The host was responsive and the manager was very nice. Check in was easy. Loved the area. Lake Como is beautiful! We did not have a car, so we ended up walking everywhere, which can be a little tricky with the narrow roads. We tried to figure out the bus schedules, maybe had we stayed longer we would have figured that out better - they seemed to be running late often. Quaint and quiet area. Great restaurant next door and a few good places up in Laglio and down near the Urio ferry docks. The only thing that could have been better was the air conditioner. We had all three bedrooms full and had to sleep with the doors open to the hallway to try to get some air in the rooms. It was pretty warm in the evenings. Overall though, a lovely stay and we would return. Also - it should be mentioned there aren’t any grocery stores nearby. We did find a mini market that had waters and sodas and snacks, but any bigger grocery runs need to be done in the larger cities.

Magical Escape

We absolutely loved our time here. Barbara and Manuela were super helpful. Gorgeous apt, amazing views, very comfortable. Surrounding area peaceful and breathtaking. The space was well laid out for a family of four, with two kids and grandparents. The pool was perfect for the kids. You can jump in the lake from a few access pts across the street or down the road. We all loved doing that! The kitchen was well stocked.

Barbara provides the perfect setting with beautifully presented and appointed accommodations that actually turn out to be even better than the pictures on the website! Manuela was amazing- really helpful. We had a great time! Great location especially for a 5K run each morning.We ate at the Osteria over the road on 4 occasions-pretty good. We tried Ristorante Il Filo d'Olio once (also good). Lagolosi Pasticceria excellent for morning pastries.We found Via Santa Marta better to navigate out of Carate than Via Regina for our Minivan (more passing places).Parcheggio a pagamento at Tremezzo was reliable for parkingaccess to the ferries.AirCon unit in dining room kept entire flat pretty cool at night. Flat very well equiped. Plenty of space. Enjoyed sitting out on the (small) verandas).Many days out included Milan (parked at Como train station), Lugano, Splash e Spa Tamaro (water park), Brunate lighthouse, Orrido (Bellano) plus all the usual stuff. Flat very comfortable but not cheap, but that's the price you pay for close proximity to the lake/Como, etc. Would highly recommend!

Perfect location for us!

Carate Urio is a quieter location on Lake Como. The ferry is approx one kilometre away, the bus stops outside the door. If you choose to have a quiet day in the local neighbourhood, turn left and walk the one kilometre to the butcher shop/cafe. You’ll need to pass George’s place. Or turn right 400m to a bar/cafe, a grocery store and a good restaurant. But no need to travel that far - right next door is a great restaurant/pizza place. We throughly enjoyed our two week stay. The views from the apartment are truly amazing.

I rented the studio at Vi...

I rented the studio at Vista Lago in June 2009. The location, right on Lake Como, could not be better. Also, I had a car and the underground parking was great. Studio has a great view over the lake, clean and reasonably well supplied. There were a couple of items lacking which I mentioned to Barbara, and I am sure she go right on them. Her staff person, Silvana, was excellent. Overall, a splendid experience. I happily recommend the studio for people who like independent living. I got to shop locally, made breakfast in every day and then took off from this amazing location.

Lake Como - Carate Urio

The view of Lake Como from this lodging is breathtaking!!! We really enjoyed the stay. We rent a SUV and were very grateful that there were 2 parking spaces. The host, Manuela was very patient and waiting for our late arrival. Her recommendations of the nearby restaurants are awesome! We loved La Locanda! Check in and out process is very easy. The place is quiet, safe and easy to get in and out. However, you do need a car to get to the public ferry stations (e.g., Cadenabbia) and large supermarket unless you hire private boating services. If you are not driving a very small car, I suggest not taking via Santa Marta to get to this lodging as GPS indicated, but taking SS34 north and then Via Vecchia Regina back to Carate Urio. Also, you will pass George Clooney's Villa! Locals will tell you all about him. We used public Ferry from Cadenabbia to cross the lake to Bellagio and Varenna. Go early especially during the weekend. Although this lodging is a little pricey to us, it is worthy for us!

Fabulous Lake Como Experience

My family stayed for two weeks. We loved the property and the location in Carate Urio. We got to know the surroundings of this beautiful town on Lake Como. The property is absolutely as beautiful as presented in the VRBO photos. The views from every room are breathtaking and five balconies are very unique to have. There were four excellent, very different restaurants within walking distance, all with lovely settings on the lake. One was literally next door with outdoor seating on the lake as well as street and indoor seating. There was also a great cafe for coffee and pastries in walking distance and a tiny little food store up a steep switchback road. Manuela is absolutely the best, most responsive Property Manager we could hope for. She made check-in and check-out so easy. The Wi-Fi is excellent and Netflix, Prime and AppleTV were all available. The pool and exercise room delighted family members. We had two parking spaces inside the garage which doesn’t seem like a big deal until you see how hard it is to get parking on the street. It only took 22 minutes to drive into Como, and 11minutes to get to Argegno where you can get the ferry to Varenna, or Bellagio or Tremezzo and more. You really need a car to maximize your outings. While the C10 and C20 buses run pass the villa to desirable destinations, the schedule is virtually impossible to decipher especially if you don’t speak Italian. And they never ran on time and they didn’t run often in September.

Vacances de Pâques

Appartement fonctionnel où rien ne manque, trÚs bien situé avec une trÚs belle vue sur le lac. TrÚs bonne communication avec Barbara la propriétaire. Nous avons été trÚs bien accueillis par Manuela lors de notre arrivée, une personne fort sympathique qui est restée disponible pendant toute la durée de notre séjour afin que tout se passe dans les meilleures conditions. C’était parfait.

Great Neighborhood

You really feel like you're in an Italian Lake Como neighborhood here, and not in some tourist spot. All the eateries/restaurants are fantastic. Boat tour businesses are close by, too. The ferry is a short 15 min walk away, where there are also fantastic bars/restaurants. Owner/Manager were easy to communicate with. Place was clean. Beautiful views and spacious. Would definitely recommend people stay here.

Magnifico

Everything was perfect! Smooth taxi transfer from airport to be met by the lovely Manuela and shown around the apartment. Fabulous views and everything you need is provided. The location is very convenient for old and young legs. We ate at the local Osteria immediately opposite on 3 occasions and highly recommend it along with Hotel Fioroni a short walk away. We picked up our first mornings groceries from the local shop and had coffee and cake at the cafe next door. We will definitely be visiting again, availability permitting! Living like a local with incredible lake views!

Vista Lago is a fabulous 2 bedroom apartment with the most incredible Lake Como views. I stayed for 2 weeks, living like a local on the Lake. The apartment complex was quiet and very comfortable. Gated, underground parking felt very secure. The unit was outfitted with everything you would need to move on in for an extended stay. Comfy beds and a washer dryer in the unit! Within 24 hours I was zipping around the small windy streets with confidence. I visited a different city every day both my ferry and car. Favorite city was Varenna by ferry, very quaint. Favorite villa was Balbianello, recommend the hike in, lovely! Favorite bar for a cocktail... the recently remodeled Grand Tremezzo! Very posh and hip! BEST MEAL EVER just down the street at La Veranda Hotel Postal. GO OFTEN! Try everything! Did I mention the views from the apartment!!! Morning, day, and nights... so very very lovely!!!

Perfect for a family reunion

This condo provided the perfect site for a joint celebration of two wedding anniversaries. Our party of 8 was comfortably settled in the main apartment and adjoining studio, although the bathroom of the latter was rather small. The kitchen was well-equipped and the property is very clean and well-maintained. The location offered several choices by way of local cafes and restaurants although most groceries require a short drive to a well-stocked store in Cernobbio. The walk to the local ferry stop was at least 15 minutes down a very narrow street but we quickly adapted to the need to avoid local cars and buses on this journey. The ferry schedule is rather daunting when you first encounter it but the local agents are most helpful in explaining the options. The balcony settings offered glorious views of the lake and surrounding environment. Silvana, our greeter and caretaker, provided an excellent introduction to the property and she also served as a knowledgeable guide through Villa del Balbianello during our visit there, which was a highlight of our trip. We also really enjoyed the trip to Pigra, a small mountaintop village above Argegnothat is reached by a small funicular, described as "one of the steepest cablecars in Europe". And the visit to Bellagio, of course, is not to be missed. We particularly enjoyed the tour of Villa Melzi, a short walk from the town center there

I have had close exposure to this lovely location with a friend many years ago, and truly was astounded by the areas beauty. I had done quite a bit of research on the area to know that this was a place that I would love down the line for a wonderful retirement, or simply to spend time at during my holiday periods. I was thrilled to find this location, and was the first to choose from all of the apartments available within the building, the full selection, ultimately the one that had the very best lake position and views, and greatest number of balconies.

The apartments are bright and sunny, and you will often see the reflection of the water on the ceilings. You may often feel that you are on the water... as when you look outside, you see only the lake from all of the windows! You are only a short walk to a boat stop, that can take you anywhere on the lake, and just outside you can catch a bus into town, or the train station, just a 15 minutes away! There is a swimming pool, a beautiful patio, overlooking the lake that you can enjoy, and numerous restaurants with outdoor cafes on the waters edge, within a short distance.
