My group of 4 families, all with young kids, stayed at the rental property from Jan 2-6 2023. The property is situated in an excellent location on a golf course only a short drive away from Eagle Lodge, Canyon Lodge, and the Village. It is a townhome that is one half of a large standalone property with its own private garage, driveway and hot tub. It is a newer build, so the property is in good condition. Because of the winter weather, the golf course was closed and covered with snow, which made for an awesome location for sledding and playing with the kids practically right in the backyard!
The large and open kitchen/dining/family room area is a major asset for multiple family groups staying in the rental together. It was the central hub for all group time, meals and games. There is also a game room downstairs with a very nice, sturdy ping pong table and a balcony with hot tub right outside. The hot tub had some technical issues when we first arrived, but the property owner was quick in responding to the problem and sent a technician out to solve the issue immediately. There is a washer/dryer in the unit, which is especially handy for longer stays with lots of winter activities. The bathroom floors are also heated, which was a really nice touch!
There are a couple of issues that people should be aware of. First, Mammoth internet services are not great, and it gets especially jammed up on busy holiday periods when there are so many people staying in the area. The owner said they have portable wifi hotspots available by request. I recommend contacting the host early in the stay if this becomes a problem. Second, the family room fireplace turns on with a switch on the wall next to the fireplace, but sometimes it would turn off on its own. Apparently this may be connected to the ambient temperature of the room and the settings on the thermostat, so the thermostat may need to be adjusted if this happens. Otherwise, we had a great experience staying at this location and would recommend to others.
