The cabin was great. The kitchen was the best stocked rental I have ever been in. The view was beautiful and it was so quiet and peaceful. It was everything we hoped it would be. Being about 15 min from Ruidoso was good for us and I believe it made it even more peaceful. Everything was very clean and beautiful.

The cabin was just perfect. It was very cozy, clean and well stocked with the basics. Great deck to sit on in the mornings and watch the deer ‘party of three’ each morning. Will definitely stay here again!

This has to be one of the best and most accommodating places I’ve stayed. There is every kitchen gadget, cooking appliance, utensil, spice etc you’ll need! Plenty of pillows, blankets, towels etc. Ice cube trays were filled up and ready to use for a cold drink, lamp was on in case of an after dark arrival, potpourri lamp was on making the cabin smell cozy, and several game choices for game night. The host went above and beyond to made sure this felt like home away from home. We had wild horses visit twice, daily (multiple times a day) visits from deer, a morning visit from a gray fox, bull elk a mama elk with her baby and continuous fluttering hummingbirds. There wasn’t a day we didn’t have a visit from wildlife . The sunrise is magnificent off the back deck!This is a perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature, without being too far from a day in Midtown for some live music, good food and shopping. We will definitely be back and definitely recommend. Thank you for such an amazing stay!

This is an amazing cabin! It feels like home. Everything you would need or want is provided by the host. I was amazed at the thought out variety of items there for our use. We had cold and snowy weather, but enjoyed time by the fire and watching the mule deer that congregated in the yard. If your looking for a spacious and comfortable cabin to enhance your Ruidoso area stay, this is it! I highly recommend this Vrbo and host.

The property was stock and a cooks dream kitchen. Best property we have rented as far.

The cabin is beautifully decorated and everything you would need is provided. The covered front porch and partially covered back desk were wonderful to sit and enjoy the mountain thunderstroms while staying dry! I had wild horses, deer, wild turkeys, hummingbirds, and one bull elk visit during my stay. The cabin was very clean and much thought has gone into making your stay comfortable.
When I first opened up the patio doors, this bull elk was looking right at me! I guess he wanted to welcome me to the neighborhood.

Amazing Stay

We stayed for our Christmas vacation. The house was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed to be able to cook at home. It was very clean and cozy. We enjoyed feeding the deer off the back patio. It was a great location for everything we were planning to do while we were there, definitely recommend this place to friends and family

The cabin was immaculately clean. We really loved the decor and felt especially safe with the "Duke" keeping watch over us! Enjoyed our mornings on the deck. The view was amazing and it was so peaceful and relaxing. It just made our coffee taste better! The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with everything anyone could need. We did have trouble with the check-in, as the printed directions we received were not correct. We spent over an hour driving around trying to figure out what we were doing wrong. We finally called and got hold of the maintenance man and he got us where we needed to be. He was extremely nice and very knowledgeable. The only thing that I didn't like was the issue with the trash. There was not a dumpster on the property and so we had to locate one down the road to empty our trash. It was not as easy as is sounded. Would we stay there again absolutely!

Great views

This was our second stay at this house. We enjoy seeing the wildlife and feeding the deer and wild horses. The back patio has the most spectacular view and is our favorite hanging out place. The management has always been very responsive to any questions we have.

The stay was great! Kitchen was packed with everything you might need. First time I've never needed my kitchen bag I take for traveling. We didnt see any wildlife. Wondering if it’s bc of all the dogs that are penned up. They didnt bark much though. We will diffidently be staying again.

Great getaway.

Staying at Nell’s Getaway was was a great experience. The kitchen was extremely well stocked, the beds very comfy, plenty of extra towels, and the deer and wild horses came right up to the deck. My only concern was the amount of dust on the furniture, kitchen and bathroom cabinets and in general. I understand it is going to be dusty in the woods, but this was definitely built up dust. Otherwise it was amazing and very relaxing.

We loved Nell’s Getaway!! It was perfect for our little family. Our son loved the scavenger hunts left in the rental guide. The back-porch was perfect we had so many quiet peaceful evenings just watching wildlife, and the mountain changing with the setting sun. We would recommend Nell’s getaway, and plan to come back!

Ruidoso is a beautiful mountain village in Southeastern New Mexico. Although the activities may seem endless year around, our visitors report their favorite activity to be relaxing while enjoying our cool pines and beautiful mountain views. Ruidoso is famous the world over for being the home of the richest quarter horse race; The All American Futurity. Live racing occurs each summer between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Wintertime activities includes Ski Apache which is the Southernmost ski resort providing the warmest weather skiing and snowboarding to be found. Hummingbird Cabins is committed to providing our customers with the highest level of personal care and service. We are at your service and welcome you to our mountain paradise.

Please read: Hummingbird Cabins, LLC is the host and who will provide customer service after you've booked your rental home through VRBO. Therefore, be advised that our cancellation policy as well as our inhouse policies and procedures may differ from VRBO. All guests will receive our Guest License Agreement that outline our policies and procedures and are asked to initial and e-sign before receiving their rental information (address and access code).
