The cottage has been a refurbished barn, and completed to the highest standard. Cleanliness equalled the standard, and everything that you would require is supplied. It is set in a huge well maintained garden where you can sit and relax after a day sightseeing.

Beautiful home near Honfleur

Everything was as advertised. Great location and very accommodating hosts. We were very pleased with our 3 night stay with our family of 4. I would highly recommend this place.

Well appointed home.

Very comfortable 2 bedrooms with modern high end furnishings. Huge garden area. Quiet village just outside Honfleur. Single level was ideal for our limited mobility parent. Excellent welcome and communication by hosts. We loved it!

Lovely place and very comfortable, well equiped the only think I found was the walk in wardrobe was used for storage with a few hangers, thought it would be nice to have it for hang and clothes. Oweners very helpfull and lovely people

Superb holiday

Thank you Élisabeth and Jean-Yves for being such wonderful hosts and agreeing to accept our large dog. The house was lovely and clean and very comfortable. The garden is huge and was completely safe for the dog as it is fully enclosed. The location is excellent as it is within close proximity to so many beautiful French towns. I would highly recommend booking this lovely property

Beautiful peaceful Location

A welcome with a smile and extremely helpful . Our dog Lottie was also made very welcome . If we had one wish ,it would be that we could have stayed longer, hopefully we will return. We loved Hornfleur and surrounding areas. Thank you

A wonderful find!

This is a little gem. We loved this place. The wrap around garden was such a lovely spot for the dog and children to play. The property has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is only a few minutes drive away from Honfleur which is a beautiful town with an amazing market. The hosts of this property are superb. We had a problem with our car when we were there and they were incredibly supportive and communicated with the garage for us. Would highly recommend this place to all.

Beautiful Cottage near Honfleur

The cottage is a perfect size, beautifully furnished and decorated and has been the best equipped holiday home we ever stayed at (the kitchen for example has everything you could need). The bed was extremely comfortable, too, with lovely bedding - we slept so well!We booked this place because we wanted to be away from the loud fireworks with our old dog who gets frightened, and we were not disappointed - we had a wonderful quiet and relaxing time here.The garden is very large and well kept, you can close the gate and then it is safe to let your dog run and play. The owners of the cottage were very friendly and very welcoming. They showed us everything on arrival, and checked in with us during our stay to ensure we were happy and to answers any questions we might have. We felt very well looked after.We loved the area for dog walks. Honfleur with its picturesque little streets and shops and Le Havre are only a short drive away. You can also easily drive to larger cities such as Rouen and Caen to spend the day.Overall, this was a wonderful holiday and we highly recommend staying here. We cannot thank Elisabeth and Jean-Yves enough for being such wonderful hosts. We will definitely come back again in future.

I want to buy it!

This cottage is simply the best. Easy to find. The owners Jean Yves and Elisabeth are lovely. They speak good English and meet you on arrival/checking out. We stayed in contact with them during our stay as well. The cottage is so clean. Lots of attention to detail. Lovely sympathetically restored barn with oak beams (and not a cobweb in sight!!). The garden is very large and had a remote automatic lawnmower which kept our little girl entertained like a pet! Apple trees also in the garden. Lots of parking for 2/3 cars secured with a gate. Table and chairs outside for dining. Very quiet location as no noise from roads, neighbours or dogs! The kitchen is fully equipped with everything including dishwasher and washing machine in a utility room. Bathroom towels and kitchen tea towel/kitchen scourer supplied. Beds are super comfy. Lots of choice of pillows. There’s blinds on the windows as most French houses have. Both large bedrooms have their own large bathrooms and there’s one toilet in between to share (take toilet paper). Comfy sofas in lounge with TV and very good wifi. Location is great for Normandy. Do visit Honfleur. Deauville beach and promenade is nice. You can hire the famous parasol there. Cabourg beach also nice and has a great miniature golf course. There is a pizzeria and a convenience store in the village two mins walk from the cottage. Larger supermarkets in Honfleur. We have rented many French cottages and this one has been the best. I want to buy it!

Wonderful Hosts

We had a pleasant stay. We think it would be most helpful to future renters to list the pros and the cons. Pros: 1. The house is clean and beautiful-it looks just like the pictures. 2. The house is all on one level with tile floors 3. We have never experienced such a well-equipped kitchen. 4. The host couple were amazing- taking time to show us how all the appliances worked, giving us a gift of a bottle of cider, providing coffee, dish washing tabs, laundry detergent, extra paper towels and toilet paper. They also invited us to pick fresh apples from the trees in their backyard. 5. We appreciated the metal electronic shutters that kept the bedrooms dark until we were ready to get up. Cons: 1.The house is described as having 2 bathrooms and it does. If you read through the entire description of the house, it is clearly stated that there are 2 bathrooms and one WC. This may be common in Europe, but in the US all bathrooms have toilets so we were a little surprised to find 2 bathrooms with beautiful showers and sinks - one in each bedroom and a room with only a toilet and a sink off of the living room. Since there were only 2 of us, it really wasn’t a problem and we actually enjoyed having separate showers and sinks for our toiletries, but it did take us by surprise. 2. Be aware that the driveway and path to the door are gravel. The gravel is in very good condition and gravel driveways and paths are fairly common in Normandy. If you travel light or are young and fit, this should pose no problem for you, but if you are depending on being able to roll your wheeled suitcases from the car into the house when you arrive and back to your car when you leave this will not be possible. 3. There is no Internet only 4G. If your looking for a place to get away and “unplug” this would be a wonderful choice.

Unsere Erwartungen wurden nicht nur erfüllt, sondern übertroffen. Die Ausstattung ist perfekt, vor allem für Menschen, die gerne selbst kochen. Das Grundstück ist sehr gepflegt, es lädt dazu ein, Ruhetage vor Ort zu genießen. Ablon ist ein kleines schmuckes Dorf mit einem kleinen Laden und einer guten Pizzeria, ein Auto ist notwendig. Besondere Erwähnung verdient das enorm freundliche und hilfsbereite Vermieterpaar. Elisabeth und Jean Yves waren in herausragender Weise um unser Wohl bemüht. Ganz herzlichen Dank dafür.
