Clean house, comfortable beds, and AC was great! House is conveniently located minutes away from the Horsepark. Ample parking. Beautiful property.

Only stay here if it’s your last resort

I will preface this review with two facts: I have never left a negative review and they gave me a partial refund. The pictures make this place way more luxurious than it is. It needs some major updating as many items in the house do not work. - one of the ovens does not work and they offered a small toaster oven in its place. The larger oven works but because it is so old or overused, you have to take 2x the time to cook. - the dishwasher is broken and has a label saying it is with no intention to fix it. - the refrigerator is missing all but one of the shelves in the door which limits storage of food. If you are hosting a large party, you will need this space. They told us that the refrigerator in the garage can be an overflow but it doesn’t keep food cold - looks old. - the wine refrigerators don’t work - the bbq outside has a leak on its connection to the propane tank so you run out of propane quickly which wouldn’t matter normally but our oven didn’t work quickly - the fireplace features outside don’t work or don’t have propane - so don’t plan on outdoor evening fun. - the lavender and plants near the pool are overgrown in the backyard attracting all the bees which end up swimming with you. - there Is a caretaker on site who never introduced himself but says he has cameras to watch you, doors to bedrooms going outside don’t lock which is scary and a hazard and we could not get confirmation if this man has a background check. Scary. I should have got a full refund.

Nicely disappointed

Inside the house is older but clean. The house had a backup appliance for every appliance in the house that did not work. The working and not working appliances were all in the house, dishwash, dryer, microwave, and oven. There wer e an overwhelming about of ants in the kitchen and bedrooms. Outside is nice but all of the plants were dying from neglect. The weeds were over grown and the outside furniture was filled with bird poop and dirt from not being cleaned for some time. Some of the weeds were standing 10 inches tall, that had gronwn out of the cracks of the concrete on the front porch. There were dead plants, weed, dust, throrny rose bushes that caught your skin and clothes. I have pictures. When we called to adivse management of our concerns they sent a guy, ONE guy, for such a large piece of property to pressure clean the ouside. This guy surveyed the outside and said this is ridiculous. I am going to complain to management about this, this is horrible. It took him over 4 hours to pressure wash all of the bird poop the outside furniture, around the swinging pool, and the front patio. This took over 4 of time away from entertaining my guest. The outside maintenance was beyond what one man could do in 4 hours.

Family vacation

Loved the location. So much to do on premises and in area for our whole family. We vacationed with our 4 children and grandchildren. There were 20 of us. Really enjoyed the pool area. everybody slept well and loved the bedroom accommodations. Kitchen was well stocked and a large eating area so we could all be together for meals. Landscaping around the home has been neglected and many things need repair…signs all over “do not use”. There were extra washing machines, refrigerators, fire pit replacing outdoor fireplace etc. Also a deep cleaning is due…carpet, rugs, and large couch in tv room. For the cost of this home that really is not acceptable.

Nice BUT....water heater not big enough to have a hot shower & a/c has a governor on it.

Pros-Beautiful property & nice locations. The property manager was attentive & responsive. When we called to advise them that the coffee maker was broken, they quickly sent a replacement. All of the games, ping pong, poker table, pool etc was enjoyable & fun. The kitchen was well appointed other than the tiny trash can for such a large house. Cons-The water heater is only 100 gallons so prepare to taking a freezing shower. With as many rooms as there are in this house, this small water heater was NOT large enough to accomodate all of the people who want to take a hot shower. We had to try to time all of our showers to allow for the hot water heater to attempt to re-heat the water after the last person showered. This is unacceptable & I looked forward to returning home so I could take a nice, hot shower, lol. The heater & a/c have a governor. It resets. It was baking and horrably hot in the house. Even when we set the heater down to 68, it would still heat to 72. The owner is trying to save money but ends up spending more money due to how their governor is programmed. And this house is 'supposed' to be higher end home but all of the cost saving items in this house that the owner has put in to save money makes the house lower end & annoying instead of higher. The outside BBQ is a problem. You have to get on your back and go under the BBQ to turn on the gas line. And lastly, the house lists fireplaces in the listing but EVERY fireplace states, "DO NOT USE".

Beautiful Home, Terrible Owner/Mgmt

Let’s start off with the cons: The owner or one of the owners, live on the property. Beware. He is overly protective with the house rules and will show up to the house if you break any of his top 5 rules. Cameras everywhere outside the house. The house rules state that the quiet hours are from 9pm-8am. We received a text message TWICE from AvantStay management stating that the noise level INSIDE THE HOME was over 80 decibels. Are you kidding me?! You’re measuring the noise level?! This is insane. They texted us before 9pm. Why would you listen in inside the home and measure decibels?! Invasion of privacy and psychotic. We stepped outside to test the noise and you couldn’t hear anything standing in front of the door, so they must have something inside the home. The fire pit outside wasn’t working. You had to hold the knob down the whole time. If you let it go, it turned off. And yes we followed the directions on the fire pit. Still didn’t work if we didn’t hold down the knob. The two vacuums inside the house don’t work. Pros: The house was beautiful and clean. The entire kitchen and contents were nicely organized and clean/new. The beds were so clean. The master bathroom is so so beautiful. Everything inside and outside the house was extremely beautiful. There are three fridges. One inside the house, in the garage and pool house. Plenty of parking and garage parking available. Outdoor grill area was very clean and beautiful. They had an ice machine.

Beautiful Area

We came here for our 50th anniversary with children, their spouses and grandchildren. We had 20 in all. The property had so much to do we decided to forgo all planned day trips and stay at the home and enjoy being together! It was a beautiful home, so much space and the property had a gorgeous view. It was clean and well maintained. The pictures made the property look very new and everything was light colored - in reality it was beautifully maintained but older and that was good, we didn’t have to stress out about kids playing. The pool area and outdoor kitchen was so enjoyable, we spent a majority of our time outside. We had perfect weather for staying outside. Would definitely come again and recommend to others this property.

Great week

The property was perfect for our entire family. We had 10 adults and seven children under 10. The layout worked perfectly for the entire family. So many games and other options for the kids. I would definitely go back. The only downside was the caretaker of the horse property below. He was a little bit of a tool and upppity. Our Grandchildren had so much fun riding the bikes around the circle, chasing frogs and watching the majestic owls. The Avant staff were extremely helpful and kind.

Temecula stay in June 2023

Our families had a great time at the property. The pool and jacuzzi were the biggest hit for all 9 children and 16 adults. The evening hot tub experience for the adults was special. Relaxing house. Very spacious. We had 25 people in our combined families and we never felt crowded. We would go there again.

Most fun we’ve had in a VRBO

This house was filled with fun things for everyone to do! We had a blast, great sleep on the comfy beds, and the property manager was extremely communicative and friendly. Definitely would stay here again and have already recommended it to others.

Absolutely STUNNING Property

Our stay at this stunning home was the absolute greatest, we didn’t want to leave! They provide you absolutely everything needed just pack your bag! Was even worried about the kiddos not having games or enough things to do, we were absolutely wrong this home provides absolutely everything for everyone. AvantStay was so easy to work with and the best customer service! Upon arriving to the home they were there to greet us and show us how everything works. So grateful to have found this home and the team they work with, will be back!

Wonderful Weekend

We spent the weekend celebrating a wedding with family. The house was the right size (massive). The amount of games and entertainment was incredible! The pool was enjoyed by our group the entire weekend with no issues. The hot tub was simple to operate and was a huge hit. We loved our stay here and would recommend to anyone!

Amazing property!

The property has everything you need to entertain everyone of all ages! We had a bunch of high school seniors and they loved the pool! They also loved the basketball court, shuffle board, pool table, and ping pong table. Avantstay was very helpful when we needed something also. I would highly recommend La Barrique!

Great house for a big family

We had a great time here. We used the shuffleboard and pool table every day, hung out in the big living room(s), plenty of space in the well-stocked kitchen to cook big meals for our group. Weather was chilly, but the hot tub was toasty warm with just a few mins of pre-heating, and we were in it every day. Plenty of parking, grocery stores and the little downtown Temecula nearby. House was clean, plenty of towels, pillows, etc. Property manager reached out several times before the booking with extra info, optional services, etc. Pool heating system is a bit complex, but works very well, so just be sure to get the full run-down during the check-in walk-through.

Wonderful retreat

Kilroy's Post Covid Vacation

This property is nothing less than amazing. We got there late (don't ask) and the grandchildren (young adults, teens) immediately started dragging us through the house, which is huge. They loved that it was stocked with games (can't list all) and that the bar area and pool were huge. The tanning shelf saw the most activity, although the spa gave it a run for it's money. The bedrooms are separate from the living areas so spill over noise didn't spoil naps. That was even mostly true in the master, which is closest to the pool. There was always something to do and most of us never left the property. However, even perfect places aren't usually perfect-perfect. That was true here. The indoor freezer (mentioned in other reviews) wouldn't get below 13 degrees which resulted in a lot of spoiled ice cream. I realized how expensive custom freezers are to fix, but still. Also, many (maybe most) mattresses are fairly new (and excellent), but the master, the full size bed and the bunk beds all need new mattresses. We also had some difficulty getting all the doors to lock when we checked out. Finally, the wonderful, wonderful pool could use a grab bar at either the steps or the end of the tanning ledge (courtesy to us old folks). Having said all this, I can't stress enough how wonderful this house was. We rarely return to a vacation home (the kids like to see new places) but we may make an exception for La Barrique. Oh, and Avantstay kept in touch to make sure we were having a good time. Thank you Avantstay and VRBO.
