Great Spot!
This is absolutely beautiful! Gary was helpful and always around. The place feels very safe and was very easy to find. There is a store not to far from the place and the beach isn’t ever crowded! My favorite part about the stay was the bioluminescent plankton that lit up the waves at night!!

Having been raised in Alaska, I began to seek out a warmer paradise. After many trips to Hawaii and the Caribbean I thought I’d take a look at Costa Rica. Wow! It’s prettier than both and far more interesting with its incredible eco-diversity. The part of Costa Rica in which I chose to build Plumita Pacifica has the exact climate of Hawaii, same temperatures, humidity and breezes but more tranquility and natural beauty. The people are warm and friendly and the country has been a stable Democracy for 100 years and is in the “emerging country” phase of its transition to a developed nation. So considering all the positives I knew I had found my paradise and learning Spanish was a welcome challenge. So here I am, enjoying my little piece of paradise, with the opportunity to share it with those who would like to sample the “pura vida” lifestyle. When you visit my website you'll see everything you're looking for in terms of living accommodations in the video. What you won't see is the fact that everything else you need is a literal stone's throw from Plumita Pacifica. Even though I have a very unique location in that it has all the romance that a secluded little paradise has to offer, I'm very close to a well stocked market and several nice restaurants as well as many different tour/tourist options, as you will see when you explore my website.

I chose this part of Costa Rica in the province of Guanacaste because it’s the driest part of the country and in many ways reminded me of parts of California that I love. It’s not just all dense jungle. There are many open spaces with clumps of trees and jungle covered hills in the background. Guanacaste is cattle country. I frequently see a cowboy driving his cattle and in fact occasionally must proceed very slowly in my car while he moves them off the highway. I love the rural flavor of the place. And the "rainy season" is my favorite part of the year. It's not all monsoon as the term implies... it starts around May 15 and ends around November 1 with the average day starting out with blue skies, fluffy white clouds and 3 or 4 days out of the week, in the afternoon, it will cloud over, maybe rain a little, then the next day starts out with blue skies again.

Here’s what is so unique about the location of Plumita Pacifica. From the property you see no other structure. You step out onto the beach, look to your left, look to your right and you see nothing but more pristine beach… no houses, no condos, no structures of any kind and usually no people. And yet Plumita Pacifica is within a few minutes walk of restaurants, a market and tour facilities. So you get this feeling of being in this romantic little place in the middle of nowhere with a view of the beautiful Pacific through the coconut palms and yet you have everything you need nearby, just out of sight!
