The host was welcoming and communicated weeks in advance and throughout our stay. The cabin was a good fit for our big party of 8 and was clean, spacious, well decorated, and well-stocked with the basics. Loved that it is only a 1.2 mi drive to Dollywood and via a back way (so close!) and loved that we could come back to the cabin to take a lunch break and chill and go back for more fun! Generous parking and theater/gameroom downstairs was great as. The neighborhood is quiet and liked that it in aan gated community and it is enjoyable to walk around, also has a pet area (also 4.5 miles to a local dog park). We did not use the hot tub or pool, but great amenities to have after a long day in Gatlinburg (35 min drive) or other local adventures. Beds were also very comfortable to sleep on. On day 1, we did note that a lot of things with batteries did not operate - like the main light in living room, or battery candles or fire alarm beeping (we took the batteries out and we didn’t let the other stuff bother us too much) but I would suggest to owner to replace all batteries every quarter. Overall we really enjoyed the cabin and some well deserved family time.

Loved our stay here! The views were amazing! Even though we were a minute from Dollywood, it was a secluded neighborhood in the mountains. Would choose this again!

Good Time

We required a wheel chair accessible room what we found was a bed that was to high for anyone in a wheelchair to get in without assistance. We also had to move furniture just to get wheelchair into main bathroom. upon moving the furniture to access bathroom we found that the cleaning crew neglected cleaning under the furniture. Other than that we had a great time and the location of the cabin was close to everything.

Needs better housekeeping

The house is in a great location and has nice amenities. We simply cannot get past the fact that it was not clean. Mold and mildew in the showers, dirty dishes and even stained linens.... Sorry but that is unacceptable.

Happy As Can Be Cabin_Sevierville

The cabin is conveniently located near Dollywood and not too far from Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. It is nicely decorated, the beds are very comfortable, spices & oil are provided as well as a few other staple items and there is an impressive collection of DVDs as well as lots of games. A nice quiet neighborhood. It would be helpful to have a map of the mountain roads as sometimes the GPS wouldn't work. We had perfect weather while there so it was great to sit out on the deck to chat, and to enjoy the hot tub.

Nice amenities but needs a good cleaning

The kitchen was well stocked and the propane grill was nice. Cabinets were labeled so it was easy to find where things were. No space within cabinets to store food but we used the desk and kept some things in a tote. Large DVD collection, board games, and TV's with satellite in each room. Pool table was good, arcade game and dart game both worked well but the volume on them is very loud and cannot be adjusted so no late night gaming once others went to bed. The cabin is in need of a deep cleaning - there were multiple sticky spots on the floors throughout both levels, dust/hairs/dirt up against the baseboards and under the beds were dirty - dust, a washcloth, tags from new shirts, etc. Two of the beds were very noisy (bad box springs maybe?) but you could not even get in and out of bed without waking your partner. Sheets and towels were of good quality and plentiful. Hot tub on deck was nice but had a strong chemical smell that stayed in our swimsuits even after washing. Would occasionally smell a septic/sewer smell when sitting out on the back porch. We really enjoyed our stay - I like leaving a detailed review of good and bad so other renters know what to expect.

Owner's response was quick, but not satisfied with compensation for problem

During our 4-night stay, the hot water heater repeatedly cut off. We reported this to the owner on our first night, and he advises us to reset the breaker. It was extremely inconvenient to reset the breaker, having to walk outside and around the far side of the house in the dark, but we did it over and over while we kept notifying the owner. We had 10 people in the house (including 3 special needs children) and we were able to get only 3 people bathed for the three nights we were there until the owner replaced the hot water heater on the 4th day. We were willing to wait for the repair because we understood that things happen and we had no better alternatives, but we spoke to the owner about compensation for the discomfort of not being able to maintain our hygiene as normal, and he said that he would refund us for one night only instead of the three nights of our stay that we couldn't bathe. We had to do the best that we could with cold washcloths and sponge baths. We chose to stay in a house to have all of the comforts of home while on vacation, but we couldn't even get hot water until the last night of our stay! We considered going to a hotel to bathe, but that would have cost us more money and time away from our vacation. It wasn't fair or considerate of us and we were paying for and not getting in return to get a refund for just one night of our stay. I think a more appropriate compensation would be half-off of our entire stay. If you choose to stay in Happy As Can Be, you can rest assured that the hot water heater is new, and it was working on the day we left.

Nice cabin but needs alot of cleaning! Dust is thick!!!

The property is very nice but we found a shirt behind the headboard. The cleaning people should've seen when making the bed. The kids found water bottles behind their beds. Dust is so thick in the walls and downstairs bedroom my mother n law had. Don't get me wrong the cabin itself is very nice but it didn't seem like they cleaned the cabin good.

Happy As Can Be!!

This property is beautiful in a wonderful setting. It is very close to Dollywood, Gatlinburg, and the Smokey Mountain National Park. We were so busy we never even got to use the game room downstairs. We did have a couple of very small issues when we first arrived and contacted Vik the owner. He responded immediately and everything was great!! We would definitely stay there again. We had family there from a 1 year old to 64 years old and it was great for all of us

our stay at the cabin was perfect for our family, my parents needed a room on the main floor and the kids had their space downstairs .. we would definitely book this cabin again and the owner was wonderful to work with .

Great place for family get-togethers

Family had a great time at the Happy As Can Be cabin. Kids loved the community pool, the pool table and the arcade games and board games. The kitchen is well equipped with pots and pans for cooking for a large crowd. Would suggest adding a coat tree or hooks to hang jackets near the entry.
