The location is wonderful—just a short walk to Elk Avenue with easy access to restaurants, shops, and the beautiful historic downtown. The backyard is a lovely spot to relax under the aspen trees, and the updated bathroom had great water pressure and hot water. The décor has a cozy cottage-core feel we enjoyed. For us, comfort was a challenge, and we decided to leave a day early. The main living area windows didn’t open, and while we knew there was no A/C, the lack of airflow made it feel very dry and stuffy. We both woke up congested each morning, even after adding a humidifier and fan. The bed was also quite squeaky and sagged toward the middle, so we didn’t sleep as well as we’d hoped.A few small items could use attention—a cracked window, a loose towel ring, and limited supplies (only 1.5 rolls of toilet paper for a four-night stay, no soap or body wash). The cottage is directly behind the main house, and there’s a camera in the backyard, which may impact privacy depending on whether the owner is present. We also weren’t able to get the Wi-Fi to connect.Overall, the location and style are lovely, but some airflow and bedding updates could make this an even more comfortable stay.
