Discover the North from a different angle. This cottage is located in the heart of Bergues, 2 steps from the walls of the old city. Enjoy the excellent equipment and treat yourself to a stay in a very nice family.
This establishment is labeled "Northern France Battlefields Partner" and the reception staff was aware of the history and heritage of the Great War in Nord-Pas de Calais, thus guaranteeing service and quality advice.

A Bijou Property

The accommodation belongs to a delightful "local" family who are happy to help you have great holiday in Bergues. The rooms are cosy but well formed and in the centre of town. The bathroom has been recently renovated and the hot water and pressure was excellent. Laundry facilities are shared by the other two apartments ( rented by the same family) in the building and are of commercial quality. The parking was problematic as the apartment is in the centre but we always managed to get a carpark nearby. The accomodation is exactly as described and gives you an excellent introduction to Bergues - which is a town full of character!

Located in town

Located within the city walls, this second floor apartment was well equipped for our stay. A kitchen/living/dining space (open concept) greets you on entry, and a bathroom (shower, sink, toilet and storage) complete this floor. Up a flight of stairs to the bedrooms, the main comprised of a double and a single, the other containing 2 singles. No toilet on this level. Comfortable bed, could open the window (no screens so watch for mosquitos) to get the breezes in, as it tended to be very warm. Wifi good downstairs but tended not to be as strong upstairs. Amenities included large fridge, dishwasher, stove and plenty of dishes,TV (never turned on). Owners extremely helpful in anything you require and a nice gift was left for us on arrival. Key exchange was easy, as was booking and communicating. Property is close to many walking distance bakeries, groceries, and a couple of restaurants. Better restaurants are available by driving short distances away. You can easily walk around the town and see the sights (and have picnics in various locations). Recommended.

sehr zufrieden

Die Ferienwohnung hat uns sehr gut gefallen, komfortabel in der kleinen Innenstadt. Modernes Badezimmer, Sonnenschutz und komplett ausgestattete Küche. Der Vermieter war sehr nett und hilfsbereit, wies uns auf viele Ausflugsmöglichkeiten hin. Fahrräder standen ebenfalls zur Verfügung. Wir fühlten uns sehr gut dort aufgehoben. Insgesamt ein sehr netter Kontakt, den wir unbedingt empfehlen können.

Lovely, central place to stay and explore Bergues and surrounding areas

Loved the property! Was perfect for our stay. We were able to walk around and not have to use the car all the time. Eric the owner meet us on arrival and was full of knowledge about Bergues and was very welcoming and helpful. The property itself was clean and inviting. Would definitely recommend it!

Friendly and quiet

In the past we have always driven through this area to holiday somewhere else, and after a week spent in this lovely, friendly walled town, we wish we had stopped off years ago. The town is so interesting, with walks around the top of, and the outside of the town walls, the climb to the top of the belfry, the Sunday morning car boot sale and Monday morning market. Short car journeys take you to the dunes at the coast, the hillier area inland, and the interesting towns of Belgian Flanders. So much to, so much to see. Eric's help was welcome, both before, and on, our arrival. Thanks for an excellent week.

Perfect apartment close to everything

Perfect apartment- clean-all amenities with wi-fi. Close to main little square with plenty of places to eat and drink. Little supermarket just around the corner and a lovely fresh vegetables shop opposite. Bruges is quaint with many interesting other towns to visit close by . Eric was helpful from start to finish with suggestions of places to visit and eat. We enjoyed our stay very much

Nous étions agréablement surpris de l'appartement tout comme du village de Bergues que nous connaissions d'ici-là que du film "Bienvenu chez les ch'tis". Bel appartement très confortable

Nous avons passé une agréable séjour dans ce bel appartement confortable, au milieu d'un village merveilleux que nous connaissions d'ici-là que du film "Bienvenu chez les ch'tis". Très bien

Très bon séjour d'une semaine au centre de Bergues. Jolie ville fortifiée proche Belgique (notamment la belle ville de Ypres) et à côté de Dunkerke. Appartement récemment rénové en excellent état, bien placé près du centre ville et des remparts, avec aucune difficulté pour se garer. Cuisine bien équipée, télé et Dvd neufs, machine à laver et sèche-linge très facilement accessibles sur le palier. Propriétaires très accueillants. Je recommande.

Beautiful, well equipped, apartment.

Bergues was an unexpected delightful city to find and the property was ideally situated to enjoy all there was to enjoy. The apartment was very clean, beautifully decorated and well stocked with everything a self catering holiday could need as well as being placed close to shops, bars, restaurant. Eric and his wife were so helpful and friendly. our 5 day stay to short to enjoy all the area and city has to offer.

Nous avons de beaux jours à Bergues verbracht.Die propriétaires étaient très polis et courtois. L'appartement était très confortable et propre. Bergues est une belle et intéressante ville. OUTSTANDING

Would absolutely recommend this accommodation as we have already done so to close friends and family. The property was very clean and well equipped, perfect location within the town, easy free parking, friendly helpful locals especially Eric who made up feel very welcome and was so enthusiastic to recommend places to visit within the area and we are looking forward to returning,

3 Stella artois s'il vous plait.

A lovely weekend spent in beautiful Bergues. The apartment was spacious and handy for the supermarket across the road. We watched tourist parties admiring the town views daily as they passed by our window. The owners are thoughtful and the place is nice and clean with a quiet perspective. We would do it all again in the blink of an eye. Superb. We don't speak any french, not a word. It didn't matter, the locals are friendly and helpful. We soon picked up the important phrases such as Stella artois and pommes frites. Brilliant and highly recommended.

Simply fabulous

The owner greeted us on arrival. He is one of the nicest men I have ever met. He was very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for him. Bergues is a magnificent fortified town with plenty of historic buildings and quaint streets . There is plenty of scope for walking and cycling. All shops are within walking distance. There is plenty of free parking. The apartment is well situated with all the facilities for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. It is well furnished and decorated, clean and in good condition. There are bikes provided, so there is no need to bring your own. The bed was comfortable and there is more than enough fresh linen available. The town is in striking distance of Bruges and if you like history there is Arras, Ypres and St.Omer within easy reach. I also recommend a visit to the brewery at Esquelbecc (10km)to stock up on some good quality beers made for different tastes. My wife and I would very much like to return as we both had a great time together.

très agréable séjour

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour (malheureusement trop court) à Bergues et ses environs. Nous avons pu visiter Bergues malgré la météo maussade mais qui s'est heureusement améliorée. Accueil chaleureux des propriétaires (Laurence et Eric). Bravo à eux pour le gîte très propre et en ordre (ce qui n'est pas le cas partout). A refaire sans hésiter ...... Fabienne et sa famille (séjour du 23 au 25 août 2013 au Bergenhuis - gîte mer)

nous nous sommes vraiment plus dans ce petit studio très agréable, très bien décoré. Ce fut une excellente semaine dans une très jolie ville avec beaucoup de promenades à faire, beaucoup de choses à découvrir. Tout est sur place, aucun besoin de voiture. Nous y reviendrons avec grand plaisir. Les propriétaires sont très accueillants, c'est aussi un plus.
