The chalet was as comfortable as it looks, and my eight friends loved the place, and the view of loon Lake. I was concerned that the lower-level bedrooms would be chilly, but there’s radiant heat in the slab so it was as comfortable as the main level. With nine single, mature adults staying together for a long weekend, none of us felt like we were crowding each other.
At the time of this review, the description, photos and virtual tour are slightly outdated, so here’s what you’ll find in the way of beds: a pair of twin beds and one king bed on the lower level, two sets of twin beds and one king bed on the main level, and a trundle bed in the loft. The description also indicates a fireplace and a woodstove, but be assured there is only a gas fireplace on the main level, and an electric fireplace on the lower level (where apparently there once was a woodstove). We all found the beds very comfortable.
A couple of caveats: The ignition on the grills didn’t work so be sure to bring a lighter with you since there were none on site. The gas fireplace didn’t turn on with the remote so you have to open the vent below the fireplace and move the switch on the small black box to the right.
A terrific place overall!
