1. The condo was not ready at the check in time of 4:00pm. We had landed in Honolulu at 11:00am and were actually hoping to arrive a little early.
2. Then the real bad thing is the place had roaches-or something close to those. They were slightly over 2 inches long-BIG. I killed the first one we saw. Then the next night, I almost stepped on one going to the bathroom at night, I tried to smash him, but missed and he ran under the refrigerator.
3. MY WIFE AND I DECEIDED THAT WE DID NOT WANT TO LIVE WITH BUGS OF THIS SIZE, SO WE LEFT THE CONDO AND HAWAII 2 DAYS EARLY. We did inform the owner of our decision, and he said that he was going to have the condo “bombed” to kill the bugs. Now some might not know what that means, but I happened, to have lived in a very old apartment when in college that had roaches and they had to bomb it. You must leave the place for at least 24 hours and when you return you have dead bugs all over the place, and the strong smell of insecticide
4. The contract did say that the AC did not work, however with the trade winds you rarely need the AC. WRONG. We were there in the middle of October and it was still upper 80’s and AC was needed. The bedroom had a window unit, that was supposedly used for sleeping only, but not to used during the day. First, you could not sleep with it on as it 4 feet from the edge of the bed on one side and at bed height, it was noisy and would blow the air right on your head. The AC was not in the process of being repaired.
