The Het Landhuis estate is a spectacular 62-acre property about 10 minutes outside of Pittsboro. We stayed in the 125 year old log cabin which was lovingly restored and renovated by the owners. The cabin itself was cozy, comfortable with all the amenities of home. Great attention was paid to every detail from the antique wood burning stove to the antique furniture and accessories throughout the "cabin." We were attending the Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival about .5 miles away and stayed for 4 nights. The cabin/property is perfect for a weekend get-away or longer stay in the country. The estate itself is designed for events such as weddings, reunions, etc and includes another cabin, a pool with bbq area next to a gorgeous pond complete with a bridge to fields beyond and trails through the woods. There is also an amazing banquet hall and entertainment complex for receptions, ceremonies, etc. The owners were gracious hosts and very responsive to all our needs. We absolutely loved staying here and would definitely return. We highly recommend this property - especially for events but also for a quiet retreat countryside.
