Hands down the most eccentric and memorable vacation host we’ve ever experienced. Pat and Carmen have a special connection with the community and it is intimately conveyed in detail throughout the property. We also appreciated the proximity to the key places we wanted to visit, downtown Taos, as well as Taos Ski Valley.

Magical stay tucked away
My friend and I spent our spring break here and loved our stay! Pat and Carmen were lovely hosts who ensured we were well taken care of throughout the entirety of our trip. Their property is truly magical! We made sure to stay put for a day so we could enjoy the many cozy spots outside. We loved the swings, the hot tub, the rooftop patio for lunch and the second rooftop patio for sunset, all with a mountain backdrop and wind chime soundtrack. The interior of the property is artsy and inviting; very much a great place to unplug from your phone and unwind. Also very close to Taos! We were only minutes from downtown and were able to dine and shop easily. If you're looking for a welcoming, eclectic stay near Taos, this is it!

We built it To Be Natural and Within the Grove of Trees and Gardens! It was built by Pat Woodall over the course of five years with attention to every detail! Mortice, notch and tendon construction of joinery with exposed Douglas Fir Beams, sided Spruce logs and passive solar thermopane Windows on all sides make the views spectacular in all directions. Solar curtains on every window and skylight make it warm and cozy and tie in to the decor. The decor is very special. White Duve covers on each bed, flannel sheets in the winter over dual control heating mattress covers make getting out of bed a little tough but when you do, oh my! Vibrant paintings adorn the walls between the windows and a 3'x5' simulated fireplace with heated blower is located on the wall upstairs in the large parlor bedroom with a Queen Bed and Single Bed. The heat on the ground floor is hot water radiant heat under character grade Hickory floors in the living room and kitchen coupled with heated marble tile in the bedroom and full bath. Sock feet are warm and welcome. Two open decks await you upstairs, the Sunset and Sunrise Decks and a outside wooden staircase provides access to the downstairs covered wraparound portal with comfortable seating, gas grill and a walkway of a few feet to the 4 person Hot Tub. A 10 foot double door opens onto the wraparound porch and into the Solar Entry and Living Room of the Casa Carmen. Lots of parking and easy access are other amenities.
