Gulf Pines is a beautiful development that is so lush with both natural and professionally landscaped vegetation, you hardly know that your neighbor is so close by. If you like being a bit off the beaten path, Gulf Pines is a great self-contained community. The pool(s), tennis court, and clubhouse are well maintained and the residents/other owners are very friendly. Our house was recently purchased by the current owner, and had all new appliances, mattresses, cushions, linens and towels (not to mention floors, paint, etc.). Kitchen was very well stocked, and Denise was wonderful to work with. There are two sea kayaks, two bikes, and now two bike helmets after she purchased them for our stay. The main floor linai is always shaded and cool enough to sit out, the master suite patio is a gorgeous place to sun-bathe and star-gaze. The living/family room, which is huge, does trap a lot of heat, especially in the upstairs, and unfortunately several of the sliding doors do not open, including one in a bedroom needed for cross-ventilation.. A/C and heat work very well, but A/C would not be needed with better ventilation. As a prior tenant noted, some areas of the house could use some better lighting-- a small task light above the sink would solve the entire problem in the kitchen. . All in all, a great stay and we would rent again.
