When we arrived we noticed a strong smell of mold before we even reached the top floor. We searched all over the top level for the source, but couldn’t find it, so we let it go. By the next morning, one of the children was extremely sick, and stayed that way the entire trip, though allergy medicine lessened the severity. By Thursday, black mold had grown on and around nearly every air vent in the top floor. After showering, water would drip from the air vent in that bathroom, since there is no way to remove the humidity from the bathroom. I suspect the ductwork in the entire top floor is full of mold, a problem made far worse since this is a room designed for small children.
Additionally, but far more minor, the pool light was never repaired while we were there.
Otherwise, the house is lovely. But the mold problem is serious, and we don’t expect to go on vacation and have our children exposed to mold in their sleeping room.
