We moved to Florida to waterski year-round and quickly fell in love with the lakes and outdoor lifestyle. After years of skiing on local lakes, we found our home in Montverde—and later Buoy Bungalow.

We’re active outdoor people who enjoy waterskiing, cycling, kayaking, hiking, scuba diving and exploring Central Florida. We love sharing our favorite cycling routes, outdoor adventures, restaurants and lesser-known local finds with guests.

Waterskiers are especially welcome. Bring your own boat and use Buoy Bungalow as your home base for skiing and practice. If you’d like a driver or some friendly pointers, just ask—we’re experienced recreational skiers and happy to help.

Most of all, we want Buoy Bungalow to feel less like a rental and more like having your own little place on the lake.

We chose Montverde because it feels like a hidden gem in Central Florida—quiet, green and surrounded by lakes and rolling hills, yet close to everything. We love the small-town atmosphere and the easy access to watersports, cycling, golf and outdoor adventures.

Clermont’s Waterfront Park, Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive and several natural springs are nearby, while Winter Garden and Clermont offer great restaurants, farmers markets and shopping. Montverde Academy is within walking distance, and Orlando’s major attractions are an easy drive away.

For us, it’s the best of both worlds: peaceful lake-country living with so much of Central Florida within easy reach.

Buoy Bungalow is more than a lakefront cottage—it gives you your own private base for enjoying the lake. Step outside to a private dock and boat lift on spring-fed Lake Florence, where you can waterski, kayak, paddleboard, fish or simply enjoy the water.

Boaters can bring their own boat, use the lift and ski or practice whenever conditions are right—a rare convenience and a significant savings over paying for repeated sessions at a ski school. Need a driver or a few friendly pointers? Just ask.

Prefer a slower pace? Fish for big bass from the dock or a kayak, paddle the lake, watch the sunset, then finish the day in the hot tub.
