What we love about this home and neighborhood is that it is located in a quiet cul-de-sac with no through traffic. Our young children like to ride their bikes in front of the home and are safe doing so. We are directly on beach road (NC-12) with Ocean views and a nice wide biking/jogging trail that runs along the entire length of beach road.
Our favorite thing about this location though is the proximity to the beach. The beach is right across the street and within a 3 minute walk we have the Epstein St. beach access or the Village Beach Club. We have younger children and one thing that is very convenient about having the private pool membership at Village Beach Club is that it is located right on the Ocean.
Village Beach Club has been an absolute life and time saver and we had no idea in the beginning just how valuable this would be. We have found that with young children, they sometimes aren't up for being at the beach all day long. Most families with young children like to have a pool at the house, but one drawback to this is you're stuck at the house and can't go to the beach! This is the beauty of the Village Beach Club's location, you and your family can have both! No disagreements and having to plan on which to do for the day and when. Just set up at the pool and go back and forth between the beach and the pool, and everybody's happy!
We are also within a 3 minute drive to two grocery stores, Fresh Market and Food Lion both in the same shopping center.
We love being in the specific area of Nags Head that we are in (milepost 14.5) because it is close to the quaint Town of Mateo, where there's plenty to do including a beautiful and vibrant downtown area with great restaurants and a nice walk/bike ride around quiet, scenic Festival Park located right on the Sound.
We also appreciate being within a 5 minute drive to the entrance of the Cape Hatteras National Park and the Outer Banks scenic byway.
